in past years the footballs been on the cinema field is there any chance mr eavis will put it on for us somewhere or will one of the bars get it themselves. it only happens once every 4 years so i don't want to miss it. I know its not everyones cup of tea but i think theres enough peple who'd want to see it

...as far as I recall, the festival has said it won't be showing it (it was on the big screen at the pyramid stage in '05, but the weather was so bad that most people didn't bother)...I'm sure you'll find somewhere with it on mind you...and not to be pedantic, but this time there's 13 IRISH Lions in the team! (well, unless Quinlan gets the boot on wednesday, but D'Arcy might be called up to replace Shanklin anyway)...

Just settling down to watch Leicester vs Bath on Sky. If he comes in as a replacement I could see Croft making a run for the test team a la Martin Johnson in 93. Was very surprised he wasn't in the initial squad TBH. I know it's unlikely to be shown, but am in two minds about whether I'd watch it anyhow. I'd probably forget anyway .

    • Pressure will be shifted to Israel, but don't think anything is going to happen this side of the election.
    • It's encouraging news, but Israel's withdrawal from Gaza will very much depend on how credible Hamas's commitment to completely disarm is.   In my view they are right to be skeptical.
    • Now we’ll see if Israel are actually capable of winding their necks in    I doubt it
    • Policing is very relaxed, provided you stay within your lines I'd say. I don't think we're supposed to have an event shelter as well as a tent next to our van, but we've done it without issue for years. It's a happy vibe up there.
    • Do feel a lot more cynical about the Mercury now. Given the awards show is now an arena event, there's clearly a pressure on them to nominate mainstream acts in order to sell tickets for it. And not saying that Jade and Knats don't deserve to be nominated (haven't listened to either), but the fact the event is in Newcastle can't have nothing to do with that... (not to mention Fender winning last year, which frankly was a joke)    Hard not to agree with this: https://www.clashmusic.com/features/this-years-mercury-prize-is-a-pivot-towards-the-mainstream/
