Info On The Bands

Right I think we should have a thread explaining some of the bands on the lineup and giving names of best songs / albums so people can have a listen of them.

I was thinking this because there is a few bands on the lock up that ive never heard of.

Ill start off with one that happens to be my favorite band (try not to do a band that someone has done, no point doing 20 different explanations of one band)

Streetlight Manifesto

Ska band that have moved more into the Ska Punk category in recent years

Newest Album - Somewhere in the Between (although they are due to bring out a album of cover songs soon)

Best Song - Watch It Crash or We Are The Few (off the first album)

Radiohead

A once signed English experimental band, who upon the expiry of their record deal decided to plough on regardless and release their material as an album on their website.

Newest album: In Rainbows

Best song: Street Spirit (fade out), from The Bends

Just in case you hadn't heard of them :P

Newest album: Decemberunderground

Best song: God Called in Sick Today or The Days of the Pheonix

Also 2 songs they are likely to do live, cant wait! :P

just checked them out on myspace for the first time......they remind me of a lot of bands i used to listen to when i was young....the hippos, the impossibles, mad caddies, less than jake etc.....good fun live band i imagine. i'll certainly check them out if they dont clash too badly.

i dont really listen to this kind of music much anymore but every now and then i still really enjoy it, especially at a festival!

:O

There is a simple way to go about this...use the website www.last.fm...you dont even have to be a member to see the band profiles but it gives you a brief history on all bands, and more often than not has tracks available to stream/download. it also creates a ranking based on the users of the site as to what are the most popular songs
