I got a few questions <_<

How much is beer at DL?

Is there an on site shop?

Is there any chance of finding cheap cold beer?

Were thinking of buying a few crates before hand. But we are not really fans of warm beer. So many issues

I usually take a couple of crates with me and buy one there. Didnt drink at all in the arena last year cos I wasnt particularly well at the time, the year before we exploited the 20p a cup policy and paid for all our pints that way, though that wasnt as fruitful last year as everyone had cought on.

Will probably make a trip to Ikea before Download to get some Koppaberg (sp?).... pear cider counts towards your 5 a day right? ;);)

Sounds like a plan. Im sure it does count to your 5 a day

Can you buy ice on site?

I may make some bottles of cocktails up then i can just buy the ice at download for it. or be sneaky and just ask the bars to put ice in my cup :)

Last year I took Guinness and Pedigree with is close enough to real ale in a can. Doesn't matter if warm or not - though I did try to keep them cool.

Don't know what I'll do if they follow through with banning cans in a year or two. I hope they sell real beer and not just Carlsberg and Tuborg!

You and me both - probably more of a problem for me to man up seeing as Im a girl!

This year Im going without my (boy - ie beer-carrying) mates, and I've got mobility problems this year as well, so the on-site more expensive beer is looking more of a bargain than you might think. I suppose boys have their uses sometimes! B)<_<

this year, after YEARS of meaning to do so, f**k it, i'm investing in a trolley thing from B&Q or wherever. it has to be done, seems like £20 or whatever could make the whole farcical debacle of getting there so much easier. so i'll hopefully have 2 crates of scrumpy jack!

tho i must admit, i bought a crate of olde english cider there last year, think it was £30, and at the time, seemed like a bargain!

Oh - right.

Yes they said that but not until they can get the 'supermarket price' onsite.

So long as the prices are comparable I don't have a problem with it - much easier to buy (hopefully cold!) beers on site than lug them about to the car, then to the campsite etc etc.

Basically they want you to spend your money on site rather than elsewhere I think. There may only be a small profit in it but profit is profit and any business is out to make money.

And they are in real trouble with underage drinking - if you can only buy your cans onsite it becomes much easier to police who's buying (and therefore, theoretically at least, drinking) alcohol. I think that as things stand, they can't do anything about under-agers with alcohol, although the police can.
