Gas Cannisters

I know this has been asked before and subsequently moved to the Reading section, but the Leeds website is now up and has the same information about the banning of gas cannisters, so....

will they be allowed at Leeds this year?

and they say they will eject people caught with them, but the warnings aren't that clear and if you've been before you could always play dumb. who can afford to buy food in the arena for a whole week anyway? the cheapest meals last year were a fiver and I fed myself with my own food for about that much for the whole week.

This is taken from the leeds website under entrance restrictions - The following items may not be brought into the site through the campsite gates:

Gas canisters

However just below there are terms and conditions of entry and these state:

small camping gas canisters only permitted (up to 2.7kg in gas weight). No cylinders

Im so confused!!!

From the official website

"For various reasons, mainly your and our staff’s safety, we have decided to bring our campsite policy in line with many other similar national events and we will not permit any gas canisters, cylinders or petrol cookers into the campsites, or anywhere on site, this year. We suggest that if you want to cook outside your tent that you bring disposable bbq’s only. Anyone seen with canisters or cylinders will be ejected from site. Please help up with this, plan ahead and have a great camping experience.

The caravan and campervan ticket holders in the campervan field only will be permitted to bring in gas containers up to the limit of 3kg."

This is a brilliant idea, cant be arsed with the warzone of sunday night anymore, i hope theyre pretty strict on it. i guess its annoying but you could always use meths stoves.

l can see what there saying tho. if you have a really small tent its not a good idea, l've got a big one, lol, so l'll be fine, its one with a middle room in it and we use a table and everything, just need a kitchen sink!?!

TBH, l'm really not sure on what to do here, l've cooked on gas for the last 3 years and saved alot of money doing so. l could try and get the stove in some how or try a new (well new to me) way of cooking.

l've been looking in the camping shops around town at all the different cooking stove's, l'm not sure which would be best. Using the cheap one with the solid fuel blocks, or the not so cheap meths stove....

They are contradicting themselves then, because in the Info Section it clearly states:

- NO aerosols (over 100ml) or gas canisters. We suggest that if you want to cook outside your tent that you bring disposable bbq’s, solid fuel or “trangia” type stoves only. Anyone seen with canisters or cylinders will be ejected from site.
