Technically he never, but he is the reason it is there. The only reason it exists is because he got refused permission to have another 'Fatboy Slim Brighton Beach Party'. If it wasn't for Fatboy that beach party would never have existed, the 250,000 people insted of the expected 70,000 wouldn't have turned up, it wouldn't have been cancelled and the organisers would never have looked elsewhere.

Granted there were always a company in charge but that beach party was his creative essence, as was the first Rockness.

It was he created that beach party, that beach party has evolved into Rockness.

He did start it, it just grew bad ass legs lol

Ok so there seems to be a lot of mixed opinions about Fat Boy starting Rockness.

I think the Rockness website should have this information. How it started etc.......would certainly clear things up a bit. A "history" tab perhaps? Cant have all us Rockness'ians falling out over it now can we?

Seem to remember the hooha over planning permission etc in 06.

Mr Cook was the one who met with the necessary peeps and got it all ok'd, he was the one that met with the dores committee and stuff.

ask most peeps round these parts who started (as in who's idea, not who opened) Rockness and rightly or wrongly they will say Fatboy Slim.

Nah, its never been a Fatboy event, hence its name. Thankfully.

Yeah he's not my cup of tea, but there was some crowd there to see him last year. Tent would prob be too small. I thought that was the idea of The Soulwax Arena, except they're not playing this year....gutted!
