Latest GFS model output from this morning (06Z) shows hot and sunny weather with the chance of a few storms at the weekend. This is the sort of forecast all the models have been showing for a while now, so I'm starting to think it's somewhat set in stone.

My synopsis is: Very warm throughout with possible thundery showers from Friday onwards.

Here's a scary pic.

It's the total rain total forecast between now and 6am on Sunday, with most of it falling on Saturday. Glastonbury is just under the 20-30mm area, worryingly close to the 40mm! I'm sure it will change many time before the event, hopefully for the better.

Id definitely deal on that!

There's a slight air of concern in me that a glorious wednesday and thursday followed by thunderstorms... sounds veeeeeeery similar to 2007... Naturally noone's predicting that kind of rain, but I cant help but spot the link!

At least it only looks like patches of rain and not a massive f**king front that is guaranteed to wipe us out. There will be lots of sun and heat around for the whole weekend so if it does strike any mud or wetness should dry up pretty quick.

Apparently "GFS 6z now going for a completely dry easterly now, right out to next wednesday"

Unfortunately i have no understanding of what that means (i'm guessing good) or how likely it is to happen (i'm guessing not likely)

I've really got to stop this

Hi dirk4danger do you actually know much about the weather ?

you've done a synopsis and are talking about different models but i find it hard to tell who knows what they are talking about and who hasn't clue

Edit

this question wasn't meant to be as rude as it comes across !

    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
