To be honest you don't really need a site plan, it's not the size of Glasto. Everyone drives in at the same place, round the same way and you stop when you see a spot you fancy setting up at. No-one tells you where to stop or says 'you must camp there', for example. If in a campervan you'll be directed at the entrance, or if you want a quiet area, or nearer the arena entrance, etc etc, there's loads of stewards all round the perimeter drive area to point you in the right direction.

I don't think seeing a plan of the arena in advance will make any difference either. Once there, find a spot, do a 360 degrees spin and you'll see everything (if you don't spin too fast!) The healing tents may be slightly out of the arena again, but you'll see these when you walk by from campsite. You can't miss anything, honest!

Thank you for not resorting to twattery. :D

You're most welcome. There are quieter areas, and the very nice stewards will point you in whatever direction you're after. Quieter area is furthest from the arena site which you'll see when you drive in, then head towards the hills in the background, and obviously vice versa. If you're getting there for opening on Friday you'll find loads of camping space. Don't set up at first space you see, drive round and there'll be loads more room.

Honestly, it's a fairly compact site, yet very spacious, you'll have no problems.

We've always camped towards the edge of the site (the race stands end, probably middle distance from arena entrance to quiet area) and had no problem with noise. It's not really a rowdy place!

I think that myself and my group of friends are going to find this non-rowdiness thing interesting, to say the least. :D

I reckon we'll aim for somewhere in the middle as well.

Thanks for the help, is appreciated. :)

PEACE MAN, PEACE!!! Stop the hostilities.......

Well, this time last year some FRIENDLY folks had posted maps for me, showing exactly how to approach the Festival Site from 'down south' - not only that, they had 'x-pointed' the nearest Sainsburys.

Aaahh, things were so much more amicable back in the year '07.

All I want is for young Wychwood Office to show me a map with the 'doo-doo' drop point clearly marked!

Regarding this quiet and non-quiet camping area - personally I don't want to be within 20m of any Family (no matter how cute their kids look dressed as mini-Dylans) - NOR do I want to be within 20.5m of any 'woo-hoo' 24/7 party animals.

So, is there a third choice - perhaps the Meldrew Arena.........

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
