  1. Was going to say something similar to ModernMan. Your comparison holds no water if you look at it internationally or globally. She may have been household name status in the UK for a relatively short period, but has had an extensive and hugely successful career either side of that - still does.

The more I think on this the more odd it seems. Clearly will be match fit from the GUTS tour, seemingly a GSH. Can only think other unannounced dates/festival appearances will be forthcoming.
  3. I think many do place stock in the 3 Pyramid headliners, but not to my mind. That said, if you dropped the 3 acts you've quoted in place of what we have this year I'd be massively more excited!
  4. I think LCD and Simz as Pointo subs are both odd placements. I like both acts, and will probably see Simz, but they'd both work much better on Other/Holts.
  5. Out of upvotes, but actually burst out laughing at this. In the open plan office. Surrounded by about 15 colleagues. Well played sir, well played.
  6. This. Had a feeling we'd also get Stevie Nicks and Suede. Thought Cymande were largely confirmed for Holts too.
  7. Guessing at the running order but if the poster follows the format of previous years (Fri/Sat/Sun, repeat) the the Sunday in particular looks poor - especially later on. The site always starts to empty after the Legends slot but this year it could be a mass exodus.
  8. Same. Nothing that inspires me on any stage. However, I'm not complaining about it. I'll probably get dragged along to either Coldplay or Dua to stick with the gang, but will be off wandering the less travelled paths the other 2 nights, which I am buzzing for.
  9. As much as it's a stinker higher up, on reflection the undercard isn’t too bad. One must see in Black Pumas, but would probably also watch Cyndi Lauper, Michael Kiwanuka, Janelle Monae, Keane, Camilla Cabello, Avril Lavigne, Brittany Howard, Corinne Bailey Rae and The Breeders. That’ll do for me.
  10. Think there's a grain of truth in that TBF. Think this is the first time I've seen a poster drop and not had a single must see on it. No Chaka Khan or Stevie Nicks, which I were holding hope for. Ah well.
  11. General consensus from our Facebook group - underwhelming. I can see us spending a lot of time in the SE corner/circus etc. this year which is no bad thing.
  12. Out of upvotes, but pissing myself here guys. Well played. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    SZA

We were down near the front/left about 100 yards from the left hand screen. Loved every second of both sets. Was dancing like a loon to Sir Duke and when I looked up at one point I had my back to the stage and it looked like the ENTIRE field was on their feet, grooving and smiling. Incredible scenes.

Magical wasn't it. The best close possible to what was probably my favourite ever Glasto weekend.

Completely agree. AM were already on a strong trajectory, but the first headline appearance absolutely cemented them. Muse too. Outside of already established legendary acts, I think there will be as many who hit their zenith on the Pyramid and never climbed higher as those who used it as a springboard. Florence and Mumford for sure, Stormzy - yes but he's morphed into more than just a musician. Arcade Fire and Kasabian - possibly. Billie Eilish remains to be seen.

    SZA

Off the back of some recommendations here, I watched some YouTube stuff of SZA's live concerts last night and I still don't feel it. Big venues, yep. Enthusiastic crowd, singing along, check. But the music and the show itself were nothing to get excited about at all IMO. She clearly appeals to many people, but I've done my deep dive now and I'm out.
  17. Ditto. I don't really get the hate. Their first 3 albums were solid IMO. And in an ocean of po-faced indie guitar clones at the time, they stood out for writing good pop songs using melody and keyboards. Some great tunes in their back catalogue. If they play, I'll be there, (badly) singing at the top of my lungs.
  18. Same. As a user interface it's really confusing.
  19. I'm not listening to 6Music, lurking on eFests and checking my phone whilst pretending to work from home. YOU ARE!

Taking that list, why not O-Rod then? Higher placed, arguably more mainstream appeal, higher tempo tunes? And the fact that Noah Kahn is 2 undermines your argument surely?
  21. Unpopular opinion probably but I don’t see a massive difference between Jake Bugg’s output and that from Sam Fender. Yet the first seems roundly derided and Fender has been dubbed “Sir Future Headliner”. I think they’re both alright, but neither hugely inspiring or interesting.
  22. Got to be Friday. I reckon between 9:00-10:00am.

Out of upvotes but totally agree. Also, the breadth of the services they provide when you look at it is staggering and to do it to such high standards without ad revenue is incredible - even with the licence fee income. Regrettably, when the Govt forced the BBC to take responsibility for absorbing the cost of free TV licences for pensioners, one of the areas that was worst hit was comedy. Something they excel at both on TV and radio.
