  1. Same. 4 songs in and I'm sold. ❤️
  2. Without more stuff on to divide the crowd, Faithless on Thursday will be insane, even if it's not at the Glade. Canning William's Green and then putting Example on the Glade was a moronic option, just shifted the problem to a more congested area if anything. If they are at the Glade and there's little on elsewhere, I'm not going near it. And sorry to hark back to TLC at Holts, but I think it's a clear case or crowd crust (again). From the Brothers Bar, pretty much all the way to the front on the left hand side of the sound desk there were loads of space. I was in a gang of about 15-20 and we (as well as most of those around us) were all dancing around like loons. It was only waiting to exit that we realised how many were in the field.
  3. But if she's not headlining Holts or Other, where would she fit? Screams Holts headline slot to me. If we do get a late curveball announcement I'll be de-f**king-lighted.
  4. One of the most underrated songwriters ever IMO. Build still gives me chills every time I hear it. And an all round thoroughly good bloke. Shame he's a dirty blade (Sheff Utd fan.)
  5. I'm struggling with the fact they missed out on Chaka Khan. The stars were perfectly aligned; she's touring, the actual line up so far seems light on legendary acts, plus she's both female and black. To use a footy analogy, it was a tap in. Plus she's the kind of act that if you've booked her, she's on the main poster so I can't see a later announcement. I'm properly f**king gutted.
  6. Yup. Nowt wrong with that. 👍
  7. Yeah. But that would be f**king mint! Tens of thousands of us dancing in the Pyramid and singing along with headphones on. That's the kind of lunacy I live for.
  8. We arrived about 35 minutes before from the direction of The Other stage and the entire crossroads and half of the "old" Glade was gridlocked. Sacked it off. When the said "Thurs Headliner" my mind immediately went to "Where's big enough/allowed to be open on Thurs?" and the obvious answer to me was IICON, assuming they've finished the build and soundchecks. Easier to manage the overcrowding too and wouldn't clog any major walkways.
  9. Agreed. This will be Williams Green all over again. Glade was chaos last year on Thursday when Example played, and he’s nowhere near the draw of this.
  10. Same. Obsessed now. My only must see on the poster. Watched them in the BBC Intro tent in 2009, playing to about 20 people and using a Macbook as the drummer. They looked about 14 at the time!
  11. I had to look up who D-Block were.
  12. That would make perfect sense. Avalon would be the obvious fit.
  13. The Fontaines/IDLES clash is clearly a victim of the last minute shuffling. SZA: Other - Pyramid, IDLES - last minute booking to replace SZA.
  14. Was going to say something similar to ModernMan. Your comparison holds no water if you look at it internationally or globally. She may have been household name status in the UK for a relatively short period, but has had an extensive and hugely successful career either side of that - still does.
  15. The more I think on this the more odd it seems. Clearly will be match fit from the GUTS tour, seemingly a GSH. Can only think other unannounced dates/festival appearances will be forthcoming.
  16. I think many do place stock in the 3 Pyramid headliners, but not to my mind. That said, if you dropped the 3 acts you've quoted in place of what we have this year I'd be massively more excited!
  17. I think LCD and Simz as Pointo subs are both odd placements. I like both acts, and will probably see Simz, but they'd both work much better on Other/Holts.
  18. Out of upvotes, but actually burst out laughing at this. In the open plan office. Surrounded by about 15 colleagues. Well played sir, well played.
  19. This. Had a feeling we'd also get Stevie Nicks and Suede. Thought Cymande were largely confirmed for Holts too.
  20. Guessing at the running order but if the poster follows the format of previous years (Fri/Sat/Sun, repeat) the the Sunday in particular looks poor - especially later on. The site always starts to empty after the Legends slot but this year it could be a mass exodus.
  21. Same. Nothing that inspires me on any stage. However, I'm not complaining about it. I'll probably get dragged along to either Coldplay or Dua to stick with the gang, but will be off wandering the less travelled paths the other 2 nights, which I am buzzing for.
  22. As much as it's a stinker higher up, on reflection the undercard isn’t too bad. One must see in Black Pumas, but would probably also watch Cyndi Lauper, Michael Kiwanuka, Janelle Monae, Keane, Camilla Cabello, Avril Lavigne, Brittany Howard, Corinne Bailey Rae and The Breeders. That’ll do for me.
  23. Think there's a grain of truth in that TBF. Think this is the first time I've seen a poster drop and not had a single must see on it. No Chaka Khan or Stevie Nicks, which I were holding hope for. Ah well.
  24. General consensus from our Facebook group - underwhelming. I can see us spending a lot of time in the SE corner/circus etc. this year which is no bad thing.
  25. Out of upvotes, but pissing myself here guys. Well played. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
