  1. Been in Cockmill the last 3 as some of our group had kids with them. However this year, the only "youngsters" coming are actually in their mid-late teens, so that seems inappropriate. Prior to that we used to camp in South Park (when it was called Dairy) up until they moved Arcadia to the other side of the hedgerow. Would welcome any recommendations for a new home.
  2. I've been on GiffGaff for many years and it was always sh*t at Glasto. Last year I got a second sim from Lebara (who run on the Vodafone network) and it was a revelation. Full 5G all weekend. It's been so good back in the real world that I've permanently switched now.
  3. Good. Hope the f**kers stay there. Cannot stand them.
  4. Other than Duran Duran, that top line is woeful. Would love The Darkness at G though.
  5. *Prepares for pile on* Patti Smith is overrated as a musician and artist. Never understood the appeal. *Steps back. Covers face*
  6. Now there's a memorable sh*t waiting to happen.
  7. If they toured their earlier stuff I'd be well up for that. This gig Nov 10, 2001: Muse / Hundred Reasons at The Dome Doncaster, England, United Kingdom | Concert Archives is still in my top 5 of all time.
  8. Hell's Yes! Who doesn't love a bit of sexy Jesus?!
  9. Anyone else read “celebrating the life of Maxi Jazz” and think Sister Bliss has had a big tax bill?
  10. The big difference is that Pulp shone brightly for a short period then split, whilst Stereophonics (barring some short hiatus’) have always been active. If you looked at each bands “peak” then I’d wager Pulp were the bigger act.
  11. I think it would. Pulp were under the radar for years, shone brightly for a period when Britpop was huge, then had a massive hiatus. The Cure have had highlights and lowlights but always been around and had a solid following. So they have more claim in a way. No endorsement either way in who deserves what, but IMO Pulp have more, better songs than The Cure from a fraction of overall output. It’s a question of quality vs quantity. In qualitative terms, I’d say Pulp are better. But you can’t deny The Cure have a deeper back catalogue, a 40 year old devoted following and a legion of devoted fans that Pulp don’t.
  12. Licence restrictions are mainly related to the impact on surrounding residents than anything H&S. Its about noise pollution really. For that reason, I’d be shocked if they allowed a major stage to open on Thursday for a musical act. With that in mind, Faithless (band) on the Thursday in any venue permitted to host them sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. They had better have other stuff going on or it could be a nightmare.
  13. My two-penneth. Do they have the chops. Yes. Do they have the back catalogue. Yes. Would I f**king love it? YES! Would they ever get booked for it in the current era, when the headliners get so much flak and scrutiny, even when they are objectively current, huge acts of varying genres? Hell no. The fest would be shot down in flames for it.
  14. Great band. Fantastic tunes and such a tight band. Plus you can tell they all love playing live, which I love to see. Saw them twice last year and can’t wait to see them again. 👌
  15. I remember seeing Muse supported by Hundred Reasons at Doncaster Dome in 2001 (I think? May have been 2002) and it was f**king fantastic. Still in my top 5 of all time. I’m sure the tickets were £9 each, all in. Good times. LG/JS are major league taking the piss with that. f**k those guys.
  16. I know Avalon have a recent reputation for booking acts which will overcrowd the field, but Gary Numan would surely be an epic mistake. It would be carnage IMO.
  17. 2013 and 2010 were class IMO. Loads of diverse but really interesting acts. However Fri in 2013 was a clashtastrophe of brain melting proportions.
  18. Earlier ones were for sure. I’ve got a framed 2009 poster from my first Glasto and it’s pretty much the full lineup.
  19. I just think a lot of people had expectations high. There was strong intel that it was likely to be Dua/Coldplay/Madonna, then this became Dua/Coldplay/Stevie Wonder, which then became Dua/Coldplay/SZA. Also seems SZA was originally an Other stage headliner and there had to be some last minutes shuffling, which feels plausible. However you slice it, either Madge or Stevie W are a bigger booking than SZA and balance the top line much better, both being legendary superstars. Oh, and it being Coldplay's 5th headline appearance this century looks like a lazy booking, with many regulars having seen them before. It's not bad. We just thought it was going to be better.
  20. From my "research" after the WH Spotify debacle and poster drop the acts I really like so far are Black Pumas (very old school sounding soul/rock with a bit of a twist) and Asha Puthli (Psychedelic soundscapes with a 60's/70's vibe). Still working through the list.
  21. Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers are a great band. Hoping they'll crop up at Glasto. Worth a listen if you don't know them.
  22. Representing K-Pop is my guess.
  23. Agreed. Loads of quality on show there and a really diverse mix. Jazz World in particular looked fantastic.

By that extension, any piece of art with a violent theme should be scrutinised and possibly cancelled. That's thousands of books, huge swathes of paintings and sculpture, all horror/murder mystery/crime podcasts, films and TV series and quite a lot of music. Grow up. It's fictional.
