  1. There's a playlist on Spotify that has their two Ally Pally sets in from September. First half/set is probably closest to what they play - but the second half has all the other possibilities.

Guns n Roses headlined last year. Green Day probably turn up at some stage.

    Jibbing?

Isn't some of it just that it is now offered, whereas it wasn't before. I reckon lots of people have always hated putting up a tent, so the option not to do it themselves appeals.
  4. You made something up to make a point. Good stuff.
  5. Maybe because Starmer has called for the release of hostages?

Everyone I know who went had a cracking time. Many of whom were not at all up for it beforehand. Something a bit different to the usual. Certainly made some of the doomsayers on here look very stupid.
  7. Was a lot of talk going into it that they would be rubbish. And in my opinion, it might be the best ever. The place erupted on those opening chords.

Yeah definitely. He did come over for Macca since though, and was in the thick of a classic, so may fancy another go.

That 2009 gig was his first festival in forever wasnt it? Saw him do Isle of Wight in 2012 (tries on fallow year) and he was already ’getting it’ more.

Something like his first night at Hyde Park this time would go down a treat I think. The second half in particular.
  11. Still feels complex doesn’t it? Much more complex than basically everyone who’s engaged so far in this thread makes out. It’s clear from the article many in Malaysia are not keen on this intervention but I still think there is a debate whether this means it is entirely wrong as it is natural oppression makes you nervy and scared. The ‘white saviour’ and ‘don’t come over here and criticise our country’ feels fair on one hand but also a bit Stockholm syndrome-ish on the other? Also feels to me there short term and possible long term consequences. Maybe short term it is bad - but also perhaps it had drawn awareness to the issue that could help longer term and it’s clear that silence has hardly worked in the past either… Feels very complicated to me anyway. The only conclusion I have made is that people over here have generally jumped on the incident whatever their knowledge to point score either way about Matt Healy rather than genuinely trying to support the Malaysian LGBTQ community. (Already regret posting in here as most of the thread seems to be absolute nonsense.)
  12. I’m pretty sure it was this year. Always assumed they used the outdoor stage for Liam as the capacity was supposedly larger.
  13. I don’t really know where this idea would come from. The locals don’t have a backwards music taste ffs. PP acts have been really varied over the years.
  14. I just saw this on twitter, and this is practically in the pit - how is anyone meant to see It does feel like we have gone too far. I voted for flags whenever that vote was a decade or so back
  15. I get this but haven’t you called for Eminem in the past?
  16. Also most people do as they’re asked. When they asked people to pick up camping chairs at Elton the vast majority did. Those that didn’t quickly were encouraged to pick them up by others.
  17. That’s fine but it is true then that you don’t really mind if others who wish to see can see the stage
  18. Also honestly have no idea how those that hold flags down the front think they should be allowed. Those at the front are clearly down the front as they want to get a good view - but at the same time are fine with blocking the views of those behind. Option 2 allows everyone to be happy
  19. It’s not actually loaded. If you want a load of flags at the front that block the view then that is just a statement of fact. People shouldn’t sugar coat it What you mean is ‘I like flags and don’t care the people including those on disabled platforms can no longer see so please stop pointing out this is the case’ Option 2 is available for those that like flags and do want everyone to be able to see.
  20. That is an honest result. A dishonest one would be pretending people behind can see! The whole point of this thread is because the situation has got so bad people who want to go and see acts at the Pyramid - including those with mental or physical issues who can’t go down the front - can no longer see the stage.
  21. Yeah and that’s why option 3 is worded correctly really. People might not like it being put so bluntly but if you have one at the front of a stage you simply do not care.
  22. Absolutely this. If you were stood there 15 years later you wouldn’t see a thing sadly.
  23. Because it's one bloke and he took it off? I don't think the people at the disabled platforms couldn't see because of tall people/anyone's hats tbh
  24. The stadium show I saw (Bristol) was great! And the same show at Glastonbury -with just a couple of surprises/older songs early (opened with Mardy Bum and play A View From Afternoon a few in) - probably solves a lot of the more casual crowds issues and gets them on board. I am not in the camp that they should just play their older stuff but it was a mistake to me how they played arguably the least accessible set of the UK tour at Glastonbury. I see they threw Ritz to Rubble in early doors the next day and played A Certain Romance in Sheffield - if they had thrown a couple of bones to the crowd I think it could have gone down a lot better. Maybe his illness did play a part?
