  1. Any system will have the odd problem, phone tickets would have lost/stolen/out of battery phones complicating things, not to mention touts selling phones with tickets on them, to combat that you would need scanning points at points of entry which then leaves you vulnerable to power outages/wifi/mobile connection problems and cyber attack. The system as it stands would have been fine if A. See had sent out tickets earlier and B. Royal Mail had done their job and got signatures from the recipient on delivery. Even then there would have been a small number of issues to deal with but it would have been manageable.
  2. Damage was done before the festival started site was a quagmire, that's not going to happen this year, forecast leading up should now be accurate and it's not looking bad.
  3. There seem to be some unrealistic expectations on here, a totally dry festival is the exception, there is almost always some rain at some point, none of the predictions so far have been that bad and we know the site at the moment is bone dry, at worst it's going to be an average festival weatherwise, certainly not a bad mudfest (unless we get a 2005 style once in a century storm), at best it could well be a classic, little or no rain and no scorching temps for those that fry (I don't mind them). It's still looking pretty good to me.
  4. Expect food prices to be a bit higher than we were used to, at Bearded Theory most meals were £10-12 cheapest option a tray of chips for £4, the cash/card situation is getting polarised, some stalls/bars were card only, wouldn't take cash but there were also cash only places, so if you want a full choice you need both.
  5. Another thought, if the build is behind schedule it's quite possible some of these venues won't be ready in time, I've been on a Wednesday before where things didn't look anything like ready.
  6. If there's an advertised full program of entertainment on the Wednesday it causes people to plan to arrive even sooner leading to a massive crush at the gates Wednesday a.m. In an ideal world people would trickle in throughout Wednesday and Thursday with a steady throughput on the roads/gates, in reality as time has gone on many (most) want to get there Wednesday morning with the gates under seige from 8 a.m. I'm thinking they are trying to spread the load by not advertising Wednesday acts.
  7. It appears to have been censored, there were a few things listed now it's just the cinema listings, not too unhappy about that, it's nice to wander and find unexpected stuff.
  8. He's pretty well known around these parts, does about a dozen sets a year at Glastonbury, can't believe you've not seen him since!
  9. Think his recent tour was a tribute show, last time I saw him. Beautiful Days, he did mainly his own stuff with a couple of Bob Marley tunes. Either way, I'll be there!
  10. Campervan ticket delivered safely today but no knock on the door and no signing by me, just checked the signature on the tracker and the postie has signed it CV19!
  11. That's how it should be, and how it is still advertised but they allowed posties to sign them during covid to reduce face to face contact, should have been stopped by now imo, these problems were bound to arise.
  12. You have paid (via see) for guaranteed delivery, "Guaranteed by 1pm next working day, online tracking and signature on delivery" according to the royal mail tracker, this has clearly not happened it was "signed" away from the address by some unknown person, it clearly was not delivered as contracted, with Royal Mail, the person sending the item has to raise the complaint so Seetickets should be investigating this, I would chase them and explain again it's their responsibility to ensure their agent (Royal Mail) delivers the service paid for. Ask for a supervisor and threaten legal action if needbe.

  14. Just had the despatch email for the campervan ticket bought in the resale, hopefully they are all going out today and you will all be sorted.
  15. Just discovered him 24 hours ago and I'm obsessed, playing Rockaway Beach in January so decided to have a listen, can't believe he hasn't had more exposure, terrific vocalist and songwriter, great on his own or with his band, really wonderful stuff.
  16. So you don't think a customer sending thousands of Special Delivery items per day through one office (Nottingham MC) would have a conversation with Royal Mail about the service they expect and try to negotiate a better rate based on not claiming for delayed items? That is the scenario I see, there is no reason to insist on next day delivery in this particular case and so they may well have agreed a bespoke deal. Just speculation on my part of course but if I was sending out hundreds of thousands of items in a short space of time through one office I would certainly be having discussions.
  17. You are right that's how Special delivery works, It's next Working day 1pm. My point is that See state the tickets have been sent by "Secure Delivery postage" not Special Delivery, there is no such service as "Secure Delivery" so maybe they are not too concerned about the time frame and won't make claims on the Royal Mail if the tickets take longer to get through the system, with the 2 bank holidays there may well be a backlog of post so that may be why some haven't yet got tickets processed over the weekend.
  18. Not according to seetickets, the email states, "Your Tickets were despatched on Saturday 28th May 2022 They were sent by Secure Delivery postage and should be with you in the next 2-3 days UK (International will be longer dependent on location)." Mine arrived on Tuesday 31st, I suspect See have done a deal with Royal Mail to allow them some leeway, it's not imperative they arrive the next day, just that they get there. The email also states, "If you are not in to sign for them a card will be left advising you to call the postal service to arrange for re-delivery." This is clearly not happening in some cases.
  19. Yes, that's the reason they started doing it but it's time it went back to normal now, but they won't want to because it's easier for them (no leaving cards or having people queuing at the office to pick post up).
  20. For those that have received tickets but are still waiting for campervan tickets, my status has just changed to, "Tickets are in stock and will be despatched shortly to the address provided." Got the campervan in the resale, regular tickets arrived last week, they where posted while we were in, no knock and no signature requested but signed off at the correct time by the postie according to the tracking, This makes life easier for the postie but is NOT the service that has been paid for, SIGNED FOR mail should be signed for by the recipient not the person posting the letter.
  21. Since covid Royal Mail seem to have allowed the postman to confirm delivery as they post it so there is no way to confirm if it was actually posted in the correct place, postmen do make mistakes and I suspect there will be a few problems with this, having said that, the envelope this year is not obviously Glasto tickets as in the past, it could easily be mistaken for a regular letter, so when you say "there is no ticket" has all the post been opened? if so and no one else has possibly taken it for safe keeping I would be down to the post office and asking to speak to the postman.
  22. Not much to add to others comments, Woodland situation needs sorting, get a bigger second stage or put the bigger bands on the main stage and use it for the smaller bands and as a chill out zone. Dreadzone sub-par without Spee, Placebo did themselves no favours by sticking to the tour setlist, should have put in a few older tracks for a festival crowd, Flaming lips ended the weekend well but the standout for me was Patti Smith, seen her a few times over the years but this was probably the best i've seen her, filmed a couple of songs so i've put them up on youtube.
  23. This might have had more impact if it were not for the fact that Starmer and his party supported these inhuman draconian rules and in fact demanded greater restrictions at times, it's all very well talking about "the forbidden 7th mourner" but at what point did he argue for a more lenient treatment at funerals or the rights of people to see dying relatives? the fact is he was quite happy to support a government that was wildly overreaching their legitimate powers and vote for legislation that denied British people fundamental rights. Boris is a serial liar and he and this government have stolen public money via dodgy contracts etc. and continue to do so, Starmer is a pathetic opposition figure, he is as much an establishment tool as Johnson.
