  1. The lesson today is not to give up when there's a Sold Out message. Got mine at about 25 past ten.
  2. Not next year. If you read back the main Lizzo thread which was updating in real time during G19 you will see people losing their marbles and a lot of people saying she'd be an absolute shoo-in as a headliner. Nothing much has changed since then in principle and she's racked up a couple of other big tunes..... but I don't think the balance has quite tipped in terms of making her a natural choice. That said - - people are wanting wildcards. And if the Eavii were so out of options as to give it to her she wouldn't phone it in.
  3. Dua won't be planning a larger tour for next year, but who knows - like an Adele or a Stormzy she'll know the gravity / magnitude of the offer and maybe pull together a one off show for it?
  4. Maybe contradicting himself then. The original post was re. Swizzle dropping out - but it must have bitten the dust when the first Headliners 2023 thread was deleted.
  5. Good or bad, his info specifically d@bbed down T-Swift.
  6. Lizzo's smart enough of a cookie to realise how big a deal her G19 show was in terms of a career boost in the UK. Doing it as a one-off isn't outwith the realms of the possible.
  7. Can't stress enough how getting Lizzo in a prominent position will be a win for G23.
  8. Picking Nick Cave up and playing him like a flute.
  9. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/nov/05/kendrick-lamar-review-the-greatest-hip-hop-show-of-all-time?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other Definitely a different take
  10. I can see it. Instead of an evening of a woman killing it, an evening about killing women.
  11. That causes the plot to thicken.
  12. Which settler-colonial projects currently occupy the lands that used to be Iraq and Afghanistan? I'll happily boycott them too.
  13. Yeah - no argument there. The t-shirt is obviously indefensible, but I dunno if it's much worse than the 'I'm Black and Blue For The Rokling Stones' ads of the 70s. Although knowing Mardy's feelings on the Stones I'm just proving his point 😃
  14. I hadn't even seen that!
  15. The boycott is specifically about the occupation. Other countries do awful shit, but the PACBI boycott is a response to a unique situation. A vaguely similar parallel at this point of time would be Ukraine, and plenty of people are boycotting Russia - or Russian acts are being let go from bookings, as we saw with Nina Kraviz at G22. He discusses his politics in interviews fairly regularly - and it occasionally slips through in The Red Hand Files. The most recent interview I read he was bigging up Andrew Sullivan.
  16. As right on as this is, that's also true of Duff McKagan and the lads. Cave is an avowed right-winger, mind.
  17. You'll still be able to get into the pit between the sub and the show. If you could for the Stones and Macca you'll be able to do it for Swift.
  18. Don't see why not. They've played before. Probably Park headliner size by now?
  19. There's been rumour that that animosity does indeed exist - posted on here a few months back.
  20. It is - quite surprising too. I've only been a couple of times - Radiohead and Queen - and both were a long way from sold out.
