  1. Absolutely agree. May/early June is a way better time than August as there are fewer similar UK events at that time and interesting acts are in Europe for Primavera etc. It was always the perfect intro to the summer festival season for me. It would take something extremely special for me to go again too. I'm not sure I'd even take freebies as I've really not enjoyed the crowd, especially for the past couple of editions.
  2. I was lucky enough in the Glastonbury sale today. Are Pulp definitely going to pop up there or should I be trying for tickets in the morning?
  3. Today was the first time I've got tickets in 10 or so years of trying (so 30-40 sales). FWIW, I followed tips I read on here last year and used an ethernet cable ans the browser which got through was Google Incognito.
  4. Got one from Plymouth! Couldn't see any from anywhere else in the south.

  6. I've got 2 freebies for KT Tunstall on 10th November at The Windmill in Brixton. They were prizes from one of the Save Our Venues money raising efforts during lockdown. They are assigned to my name but can be transferred if done soon (ID of lead booker strictly required on the door). Drop me a message if you'd like them.
  7. Picked up a ticket for the Schlagenheim day, mainly because they've not played bmbmbm the last few times I've seen them. Reluctantly, all three is a bit too much! They must be due a Windmill gig at some point before the end of the year now they're back from the US? I've got followthatpage tracking that one just in case!
  8. TicketSwap is the equivalent I've used for Dutch/Belgian tickets. edit: I misread gfa's post above and just realised they'd already said the similar.
  9. I've got a ticket for Dry Cleaning at Przym in Kingston tomorrow I'm not going to use, if anyone wants it? It's just a QR code on an email and am happy to send on to someone who'll use it. I was lucky enough to see them in Peckham on Thursday and they exceeded my expectations but am a bit gigged out to go again!
  10. Definitely. Eloquently put! I guess the question I'm really asking is was the nomination as much for the project as the music?
  11. Perfect result for me. Simz is brilliant, as is the album! I've still not wrapped my head around the Self Esteem love here and in general. I'm delighted she's doing well as I think everything she stands for is great and I really want to like her musically because of that. However, I don't think she's particularly good or interesting musically, live (I've seen her 3 times at various festivals) or on record. What do people see that I'm missing, or is it more buying into the person rather than the music?
  12. Got a spare for Angel Olsen tonight at Brixton Academy. Will do £25 of anyone wants it. It's on the SEE Tickets app, so would have to transfer through that.
  13. Lovely suggestions as always! I camped next to the (now) drummer from Projector at GM in 2019, so that's them as good as confirmed! 😛
  14. I feel the complete opposite. The end of summer is jammed with great festivals and I preferred the early June dates before much else has got going.
  15. I refreshed intermittently on each device. The one I was refreshing at the time got through at the same time as the others which were on auto refresh (all different networks, so not an IP thing).
  16. Got through on all devices at the same time (10:15) and early birds were still available. Was bloody apprehensive this morning but GM Early Bird & all 3 London BCNR shows sorted. Phew! Good luck all still trying.
  17. Payment plans will be available, as per their Twitter.
  18. Yeah, that's how I feel they'll end up using Round The Twist eventually. Rising size bands + secret sets after Rising finishes at night.
  19. Similar views here. I've seen 2 acts in there across 3 festivals and didn't even venture in this year. It does give a completely different change of pace though and I think that's welcome. What would the alternative be? I'd like to see some live acts in Round The Twist - somewhere between Rising and Walled Garden level, perhaps unbilled? That's not really a replacement for the style of act you find in CW though.
  20. Something else I noticed popping up this year in significant numbers for the first time were personal toilet and/or shower tents. They take up loads of space too and you wouldn't want to be next to one!
  21. It was a bit weird, wasn't it? I kind of regret going but we couldn't sell our tickets. It left me understandably completely cold. Objectively, I didn't think the performance was that great either.
  22. They were already advertising the next tour at the O2.
