  1. I've got my Early Bird again. Gutted that it got moved to clash with EotR this year and I had to sell. Intrigued by the line-up as I doubt they can match this year, but I trust the organisers that it'll still be great.
  2. I got in eventually (50 minutes or so in the queue), but Early Birds had all gone. Then, whilst I was coming to terms with the extra cost, Settlement Early Bird reappeared as an option. I breathed a sigh of relief, added them and went to pay and then got kicked back out again! Just managed to get back in and buy standard price Settlement tickets. Very disappointing sales process. There are clearly better options, as demonstrated by EotR last week.
  3. No luck at all. Was signed in with Ticketline in advance and been in a queue since 9:50. So stressful! I actually have one ticket rolled over, so will be going regardless, but we're after a couple of Settlement tickets instead.
  4. Very puzzled by this! EotR release day was so smooth. This is chaotic!!
  5. Can we stop posting second hand set reports, please? This thread is for gigs where you're pure and simple gonna be there. (sorry)
  6. Are you referring to the guy who got on stage for a whole song during Warmduscher?!
  7. Very happy for Arlo and loved her live last week, although I have to say the sound on the night was awful on her track!
  8. I'd give it to BC,NR. Thought they'd end up winning this for their debut album the very first time I saw them in 2019 (looked so hard for a way of betting on it at the time!). I think it captures them perfectly up to that point, although they're a different band now. I'll be interested to see what they play tonight. There's only 6 tracks on the album and if those they seem to have stopped playing their biggest song, Sunglasses, and have rewritten (again) their next biggest, Athens, France, since the album (itself a rewrite of a rewrite!). Would be very pleased to see Arlo Parks or Nubya Garcia win too.
  9. All good, my fellow Grecian! I guess we'll get clarity in due course 😊.
  10. I noticed yesterday when booking Early Birds. However, I just went looking again and found some wording which contradicts it on the camping info tab (i.e. says that area is boutique for 2022). No idea which is correct after all!
  11. On the map for 2022 the area near the Folly is back as general camping rather than boutique.
  12. Yes, it's bloody brilliant! Really attracts a music loving crowd, it's amazing fun and such great value too. I love PR so much (I've seen them 6 times this summer, although all at Festivals) and can't wait to see them headline RB 😊
  13. I second what Dales said about the Thursday and Friday BH weekend in June. That and the Saturday and Sunday before (to make 6 days with no standard working days), and also to catch the Primavera acts surely makes more sense than a crowded August BH?
  14. Young guy did something to his knee (ligament damage, I think) in the mosh pit. Got carried out by others and attended to.
  15. What a weekend! The entire festival seemed more slapdash than any of the others I've been to this summer, but am more than willing to forgive that. It's a special place. The weather helped too! Musical highlights for me were: Little Simz, Squid, Girl Band, Kikagaku Moyo, Mermaid Chunky, Melin Melyn, Hen Ogledd, Katy J Pearson (tipi), The Umlauts and Broadside Hacks.
  16. Weather looks pretty good! I've run out of time to do the usual forecast I like to do, but a quick summary: Today (Thursday) is the coolest day, with temperatures gradually rising through the weekend (and beyond). Highs could be 23-24 C by Sunday. Overnight minimums could be as low as 11-12 C, so pack layers! It also looks predominantly sunny after today, although it will be broken by a few clouds. There's an outside chance of a light shower most days, but I think it's probably unlikely on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Saturday is the day with the highest chance of rain coming off the channel in the morning, which might persist for a couple of hours. There's a fair possibility though that this could miss us altogether to the east. It looks a bit breezy at times, which might have a minor impact on sound quality on Woods. Pitch facing east to get a cooling breeze in your tent. Off to catch my coach. See you all there!!!
  17. Current most-highlighted from the Clashfinder (usual stuff that this is mainly people like us, rather than a representative sample). Squid could be busy and Sorry (I think) currently the most popular Tipi act.
  18. Rearranged (yet again) to a date I could now make (it clashed with EotR).
  19. *starts repacking* Very, very much looking forward to this weekend. Been incredibly busy, but will try to post both my usual festival weather forecast and a few tips on acts tonight or in the morning, as I've been lucky enough to see a lot of them already this summer.
  20. Gahhhhhhhhhh!! 😬😬 One of my few must sees this weekend and just sold my ticket for their gig.
  21. audiobooks might be another possibility. New album early October.
  22. Sunday was much better than Friday and Saturday. There were significantly fewer people (and most of those who'd gone seemed to be the dickheads), which seemed to be about the right number for the facilities available. Very short or non-existent queues and less rowdy/boisterous people (those two are probably connected!), which led to a much better and friendlier vibe all round as people were chilled and less irritated. The setting of the festival is spectacular, especially with sunny weather like this weekend. I loved watching the sunset from the castle, with the ferries drifting by. The good choices were plenty good enough, with more vegan options than I was expecting. And brownies. Yum, brownies. One final gripe from me though on the bookings and stage times. Now, I knew the line up and half the reason I went was to see bands I wouldn't normally, so that's not an issue. However, giving bands such as Porridge Radio, Pigs x7 and Black Honey strict 30 minute slots seemed like a waste. Also, the 'othering' of most bands which weren't 'white guy does guitar' to the 'world music' stage did not sit well.
  23. Interesting! I've never heard of XC, so will look into them 👍. GM was very difficult to predict though and every model was shifting with every run. Also, the best over the year might not necessarily be the best on the weekend we all want to know about.
  24. Norwegian weather service. Usually very reliable for N, NW and central Europe.
