Those Gorillaz guests are insane - hoping some of them come to Boardmasters this weekend. More songs had guests than didn’t on setlist.fm and there were about 15 different ones.

I feel like the fans will be fairly calm though given its landfill indie. Will be busy but shouldn’t be too bad. Which way is it going also? From the r1 stage to main shouldn’t be bad as theres so much crowd control stuff but the other way could be as theres way less if its the same as before. I’m sure they have it all thought out anyway Most of these replacements were week of and due to corona for Latitude, whereas these are a fair bit before. Maybe they were banking on US acts being ok and are now stuck as they didn’t get enough replacements together. I guess they are just waiting for when they planned to announce the final lineup and will replace them then (or announce something if a big act drops out as its mostly been smaller ones)

Its really not that far - bigger issue is bar queues i reckon although from memory the queues are never too bad as barely anyone is 18 haha. definitely miss the R1 tent - leaves a lot of mid level acts without a suitable stage in my opinion- if they don’t have a fad hit or blow up just before the festival then they will be like 2pm on the main stage with no crowd or clashing with main stage headliners in FR/Dance/1xtra. Also completely stops them booking say Pendulum who are too big to headline dance but would be shit mid-main stage in the day, same for like Bicep too and lots of other dance acts given how much DNB etc is growing

100%, biggest show Liam has ever done solo and first show back opens around 12-2pm generally, planning to rock up around midday myself The Latitude one is tiny versus Reading main stage, i reckon it could be the one from Wireless/Community - far bigger than Latitude’s

If headlining R&L, the second biggest festival in the UK (and biggest by joint capacity) is his ceiling then i’m sure he’ll be able to sleep happy tonight

6 mediocre headliners to be cheaper is exactly the point. Also having no Radio 1 is hardly safer when the other 4 or 5 tents are still about, it will help a bit but in the grand scheme of things it will make no difference since Covid will be running rampant at R&L regardless. I hope it comes back but its the kind of thing they can't quickly go back from in my opinion.

They are huge in the UK and for the R&L audience. They are basically in the glorified sub spot also. They put on good live shows and have sets full of good singalongs. Far more worthy than some recent headliners for the R&L crowd than like Kings of Leon where 90% of the audience only knows 2 songs. They have definitely worked their way up too, they have pretty much headlined every festival in the country at this point. Also its their only shows this year in the UK (and only in the world except some random swiss festival), its not like they are playing everywhere.
