  1. Good lad. Putting off all the competition until he is ready to move to his home town club on a free transfer
  2. Depends if they’re bigger than the 1975 or not
  3. We’ll break him out of the diving habit. But after the eventful time we had the last time we tried to sign him I won’t actually believe it until I see him walking out of the tunnel at Elland Road wearing white.
  4. The 1st of April has come around quickly. Those guys on the wet side of the Pennines have some serious delusions.
  5. Did the usual Burnley team get lost on their way to Turfmoor today? Think they ended up fielding a Sunday league team instead of professional footballers.
  6. Safe standing is being installed as part of the planned redevelopment of Elland Road. Most fans don’t sit down anyway especially not last weekend when it pissed it down and all the seats were wet in the front rows. Having proper standing areas mean more room to stand in instead of being stood in front of your seat which makes it safer. When your team is playing exciting football you don’t want to sit down.
  7. This whole CR7 saga just proves that there is ridiculous amounts of money in football to be wasted. The blue team of Manchester decided to drop a shedload of cash on the wages of an ageing player in a position they didn’t really need cover for just to have the prestige of having him in their side. The red team of Manchester were so annoyed about their local rival having an old player that they swooped in a put in a higher offer. Again they weren’t looking to fill the position CR7 plays in. They just threw their teddy out of the pram and decided they didn’t want anyone else having him. Both teams look pathetic and childish after this saga. The fans of the red team went from hating CR7 last week to loving him again this week. He’s got no loyalty. Just chasing the money, he gets to put in a half arsed effort on an absolutely ridiculous wage until he retires.
  8. Can I use the replicator to make some latinum?
  9. Think this thread has some new relevance today so needed a bump. Any fresh tips for those who are struggling to get back in a fit state to party? We have a friend in need right now.
  10. Do you know the tale of Poo Girl from Leeds fest? She didn't have a friend to help. I met her a year or so later, you could still smell the toilets on her
  11. I’ve had a lot of these over the last year or so in the time since I presumed to have had Covid. The trouble is that I’ve had a lot of other stuff going on that has the same symptoms so no idea if it’s long Covid or not. I’m wondering if they can develop a test for it that can check for a trace of the virus in the system. Would probably have to be a GP prescribed blood test though
  12. Welly bites. We normally have to keep her muzzled.
  13. Afghanistan has always been known as the graveyard of empires. No external power has ever managed to control that region. The Persians, Greeks, Mongols, British, Indians, Soviets and now the Americans have all tried and failed. Maybe it’s time we left them alone and possibly they may stop rising up against their many oppressors.
  14. Is educating students a bad thing? Or don’t the Tories want educated voters? Should politics be taught in schools? The biggest problems we’ve had over the last 5 years are because of people not understanding what they are voting for.
  15. Premier access just means a film is easier to source in a watchable quality from elsewhere on release.
  16. Or it’s a very complex money laundering scheme. Need to make that Russian money legit somehow.
  17. It’s not a story a Jedi would tell you. I have read it. I’ve got the Aftermath series to read at some point too.
  18. You know where his heart lies. His destiny has always been Elland Road
  19. I listened to and then read Ready Player One. Just finished listening to the sequel which is imaginatively titled Ready Player Two. What makes the audiobooks worth it in some cases is the narrator. In the case of these books they were narrated by Star Treks Will Wheaton. It made for some interesting meta references as the first book actually has a lot of Star Trek references within. Another good pairing of book and narration is the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy narrated by Stephen Fry. Having a familiar voice telling the story is certainly a huge plus point.
  20. Actually picked up a physical book for the first time in a while. I’m not sure if audiobooks count as reading. Anyway the book I’m currently reading is Viva La Madness by JJ Connelly. It’s the follow up to Layer Cake which was made into a film staring Daniel Craig and a very young Tom Hardy. It makes the original story look tame. If you like crime drama then it’s worth a read. There was talk of it being made into a netflix series but things have gone a little quiet on that recently.
  21. There wasn’t any free kicks in useful positions just constant fouls in the middle of the pitch because Grealish fell over again.
