  1. Are you upgrading your scooter to a half-track this year?
  2. So this years big footwear question is going to be Wellies or Waders.
  3. Are you sure? https://www.reuters.com/business/environment/forecasters-predict-extremely-active-2024-atlantic-hurricane-season-2024-04-04/ Any weather on the East Coast of the US has an effect on the west coast of the UK. I don’t think we’ll be having the wellies vs walking boots debate this year. It’s going to be wellies vs waders.
  4. They headlined during the swamps that were 2005, 2011 and 2016. It stopped raining after they played in 2011, Sunday was great weather. They did headline in 2002 but they were a late replacement so the weather gods didn’t have time to prepare the ground for them.
  5. Shutting Wednesday would be madness. That means everyone trying to arrive Thursday so would be complete grid lock. These early days help to ease traffic. Theres a potential but controversial solution. Do early bird tickets for non coach arrivals. This could be done by vastly increasing the car parking ticket if you want to arrive on Wednesday with only limited numbers available bought at time of balance payment. It would ease the strain to spread the load on Wednesday so not as many people on site initially. People already taking the green option by using coach or won’t be hit by additional costs so this will encourage more people to be environmentally conscious and also bring in some more income for the festival.
  6. From a H&S pov it’s far better to have a large space getting a big crowd rather than smaller venues trying to cope with the masses looking for entertainment on the warm up days.
  7. Is there any rules that say the headline act must be on late at night? Maybe they’ve got a special dispensation to have a couple of acts on the Pyramid to draw the crowds in from other packed areas but make sure they turn it off at maybe 9pm to keep the locals happy with their mugs of cocoa and slippers.
  8. He is on a mission to play every stage. Think the Band Stand is one of the few regular stages he hasn’t played on yet.
  9. Fat Boy is always hanging around the site and I know this gets mentioned a lot but is there always room for a Housemartins secret set? Perhaps an acoustic set on the Band Stand.
  10. Ignore the haters I got a chuckle. I bet Hitler would have been a right raver. Especially with the amount of amphetamines he was taking.
  11. I don’t think it’s as easy to close off the Glade compared to Williams Green Railway track and main route into Pennards from the East of the site will be cut off. Pretty much splitting the site in two. You will have to decide which side of the site you want to be on well before the start of that set.
  12. Been in an internet black hole all day. Did I miss anything?
  13. You’re not the only one so don’t worry. She’s more well known for her collabs with other artists and not as well known this side of the pond.
  14. Beware the ides of March If it drops then we need some Caesar references.
  15. I was hoping for a Xmas style present waiting for me when I woke up this morning. Guess I’ll have to wait until after breakfast.
  16. See you all back here at 6:55 👍
  17. About to lose phone signal. I bet it happens now
  18. I don’t think 9-5 exists in the festival world. I would laugh if they dropped it at 2am while hardly anyone is looking.
  19. I’m going to take a punt on it being on a day ending in Y and the time somewhere between 6am and 12am.
  20. I’m not that worried about the weather during the festival if it’s dry in the lead up. As this year seems far wetter now than the previous couple of years, I’m expecting ground water levels to be way higher than the last two festivals. Has it been just as wet in the South West as it has been up north? Spring is notoriously damp as well so we’re going to need a mini heatwave/drought before June hits. If it doesn’t rain for the festival it’s going to be a moot point but I’ll be happier heading down there knowing that any rain isn’t going to turn the ground into the Somme.
  21. Big difference between using a private jet for domestic travel and international travel. If we had the infrastructure in the country then Sunak could have easily got the train. Wouldn’t have been a problem using his government provided vehicle and driver either.
  22. To the surprise of no one. Corbyn is supporting the Houthi terrorists in this action. Not surprised when they have the same common interests as Hamas.
  23. I’m not sure which imbecile at Leeds council signed off a major Palestine protest at the same time as all the Leeds fans are making their way to the match. Complete carnage in town as 10000s of fans are trying to find new routes to the stadium as the usual routes are full of protesters. It’s like the protesters are deliberately looking to cause problems.
  24. The supplementary payments started during Covid and then when the cost of living crisis is. They were more substantial payments of £150, the extra £10 this time of year seems to be a tradition now.
  25. Haven’t got mine. Must be off their Christmas card list.
