  1. If inflation stays at 10% for the next year then the October 2023 ticket sale will be £375. Start saving
  2. I know a couple of people who are in the same position. And another who doesn’t want to volunteer but now feels like they don’t have a choice. Even though I champion it every chance I can
  3. The Oxfam experience this year was excellent. There was even a stall selling iced lattes and late night pizza
  4. Come back and downvote me later 💋 But have you seen the wealth in this country? There are a lot of affluent people out there for whom this is not a lot of money. The festival know this and have priced accordingly.
  5. It will sell out straight away, it’s really affordable to a massive section of society.
  6. It's straight out of the cynical business managing PR playbook
  7. No tweet and no news announcement. Leaving room for “it was posted in error” if there is outrage if it’s picked up in the press.
  8. I called this on the cost of living thread. The maths add up. Demand is high and they announced on a good day to bury bad news
  9. I love saying I told you so (just so we are clear on that)
  10. Tonight’s link March is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. Topic: March’s Zoom Meeting Time: Oct 15, 2022 07:30 PM London Join Zoom Meeting https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88629732014?pwd=b2pJeTl4bWgyM3lXQk5wYkN3c2pSZz09 Meeting ID: 886 2973 2014 Passcode: 838942
  11. 😂 You really love The Park don’t you! I agree, there is little bits that you can trim. Sadly, it’s raise prices or cut costs. It doesn’t all have to come from ticket sales but I know some non-food stalls struggle to break even. So increases in prices for them also risk the makeup of the festival changing. They won’t show to make a loss
  12. The questioned was framed as “if you had cut a stage”. It was a tough decision but one I stand by. I’d rather they put the price of a ticket up and keep capacity to 2019 levels.
  13. Get rid of Williams Green and replace it with something arty. Ditch The Park stage (terrible sound) and move those acts to other stages replacing the middle of the road bland choices on during the day. Leave the rest of The Park area. I like chilling there.
  14. The early bird things is an intentional sales technique to give the feeling of scarcity to those logging on. There might only be 1% of tickets sold as early bird but they know people who don’t get early bird still buy a full price ticket. It’s still a business after all and it’s obviously working as they sold out.
  15. A friend of a friend, who clicked express pay, is now having their ticket payment refunded because Green Man say it didn’t actually secure a ticket. What a mess
  16. There will be plenty on Twickets for those who missed out. Don’t lose hope. It’s not over yet
  17. Thanks for this. 12 of us got sorted through these links
  18. What happened last year spooked my group. Never seen it sell out so quickly
  19. It is but it’s the only festival of the year I pay for a ticket so don’t mind. Only time I didn’t do settlers I got caught in the traffic jam exiting the main car park in 2018. I’m paying the price to avoid that (although I hear it was a one off)
  20. We are gearing up like it’s Glastonbury ticket day with everyone trying for tickets the minute they are released. Going to use settlers to arrive on the Wednesday evening and beat the queue. I hope the open up all the fields again this year
  21. I was saying on the virtual meet. My first two festivals I didn’t know Arcadia was a separate organisation. I thought it was just the name given an area in Glastonbury. I expect your regular festival goer sees it the same way - Glastonbury have sent part of the festival to the World Cup. The flip side, they are a separate company and, if it doesn’t break a contract, the festival need to keep their nose out of Arcadia business. If they want a say on who and where Arcadia perform, pay them more for exclusivity. It’s business. If it’s such a big deal, don’t invite them back - do that and risk them showing up at other festivals. That show and that expertise will be hard to replace.
  22. I will do. I really like Saka but pushed further upfield. Also I won’t be bigging up the hosts. I’m there meeting family and seeing a couple of matches. Their behaviour is appalling
  23. Im going to the World Cup so I will report back on whether the show is any good (if I get chance to see it)
