  1. The Tories will change leader and it will be far right populist vs a, as you say, Cameron type. The more moderate will lose as the party members who will decide are more to the right now than 5 years ago. The trouble is that much of the electorate is also more to the right and those Red Wall folks do seem to like Farage and his not too nice policies so if Labour do not do things if/when in power to keep them happy then they could well be in a lot of trouble - as will the UK if a Far Right Tory government is elected.
  2. All too true for huge chunks of the electorate. Take £4000 from each of them, give them back £400 5 years later and tell them you are great. Welcome to the world of politics where the truth no longer matters and there is rarely any real change in what happens.
  3. We have never seen Coldplay live. Not big fans but their music is fine but I do know that it will be a big party at Glastonbury and so we may well go and watch them and join in and have some fun. Cos, well why not.
  4. Most lower paid workers get nothing or very little on NI cuts. But the facts don't worry Tories
  5. Takes a racist to defend a racist
  6. and Tory MP's are well known for always telling the truth.
  7. They will just ignore all the amendments or vote them down in the Commons and it will go through more or less as it is - and be law by the end of March.
  8. It was Echo and the Bunnymen and I can confirm it was packed and also excellent
  9. Told you the polls were all over the place.
  10. If they do that then they will be labelled liars and untrustworthy and will be out of power for 15 or more years. Are they really that stupid?
  11. Judges appointed by tRump find that tRump did nothing wrong shock
  12. 100% the bit in bold. Last week Channel 4 did a poll that showed 75% of people did not want tax cuts and would rather the money is spent on services instead. To me reversing is a no brainer - and maybe the electorate might appreciate the honesty.
  13. All I know is that someone called SZA might headline and having listened to them this morning my verdict is that they are 'ok' and must be popular for BST to have them headlining. I would not go and see them though.
  14. Sadly they do - and so many people glance at paper headlines and base their opinions on that and that alone! Crazy
  15. Currently polls are not narrowing but 2 weeks ago they were. Prior to that they weren't, prior to that they were - that's my point they are all over the place despite today being an average of 20 points. Give it 2 weeks scandal free after the budget and then where will we be? The Tories PR machine, as I keep saying, is really really good.
  16. Polls are all over the place and move quite a lot each time there is a new 'Tory Scandal' and then slowly move back to a 13 ;point lead ish for Labour......... Given all recent history waiting really will not help them so give money away to rich people, screw Labour's plans and then go for it. Maybe they actually could not care less if they lose as they know the next government is going to have enourmous problems so not being that government could be a good idea!
  17. Which comes first, election announcement or Glastonbury Lineup?
  18. This sort of poll is hard when boundaries remain the same but as, I think, 2/3rds have changed it becomes nigh on impossible especially if the electorate uses tactical votes as most who do that will likely not yet know how the changes will effect where they vote
  19. 4 weeks I think, normal average is 6
  20. I have always said May and see no reason to not think it will be May. Any benefit from budget will be felt and it gives Labour very little time to rethink or plan their way of countering what might be done.
  21. I am fairly sure it has not been updated since so I wonder how far the UK might have dropped down the Index of Censorship given all the new and toughen up laws we have had since 2021 when the UK was in the Third tier? "The UK has been ranked only in the third tier of a new global index of freedom of expression due to what was described as the “chilling effect” of government policies, policing and intimidation of journalists in the legal system. Countries including Israel, Chile, Jamaica and virtually every other western European state were all ranked ahead of the UK in the measure compiled by the advocacy group Index on Censorship The UK was listed as only Partially Open in every key metric for the year 2021" Is Censorship now common place and are people given different sets of rules depending on their opinion, protest subject etc? Are so me able to say things now while attempts are made to silence others? To me the growth of Censorship is worrying and it is not just the UK but this is a UK Politics thread hence discussing the UK on this post. Have you been censored in any way?
  22. Can't we just have a Kylie/Lionel double header legend? Plenty of awesome duets to be had.
  23. I shall simply refer you to pretty much every election in my adult history - s0 1979 onwards. Maybe not quite as spiteful and nasty as what Hunt might do next week but nonetheless things are always do to deliberatly try and scupper the other main parties plans. It is how it has always been. The only time it was a bit different was 2015 when the Tories and to hurt the LibDems and Labour
  24. I am supposed to ignore you but as you ask I shall merely say that I have rarely, if ever, even mentioned the SNP on here so not sure where you have got that idea from. When I have mentioned them I include them in a group of parties I might like to help form a coalition, nothing more, nothing less. Why do you have such hatred for tjhem and most things north of the border?
