The one we have bought from Efests shop held up fine and the wheels cleaned off really easily. It is the 4 wheel fold up one. for around £70.

Yeah, we had the same one this year. Did it's job no problem at all; Well worth the extra few quid.

  2. I actually have a pretty cool security story from this year.

So like so many others I had a pretty terrible time getting into the festival: Just over eleven hours in the car and a gruelling journey dragging my trolley through the mud to get to the gates etc etc...

Once I get to the gates a security guy calls me over and says that he wants to take a look in my bag. I plonk my bag on the table and he begins to open it. As soon as the bag opens we are both hit with a pretty strong smell of weed. I'm an idiot for not taking more care but I had a little bit of weed just chucked in my bag, not much but it was strong and it stunk.

The guy says "you got some weed in here mate?". "No" I reply. He looks over to another guy who I assume was his manager and says "come check this bag, I think there is weed in here".

I'm thinking to myself, oh fuck - after all I have been through today, this jobsworth is gonna take my weed.

The head security guy walks over and as he is walking he gives me a wink. He pretends to sniff in my bag for less than half a second, turns to the jobsworth and says "nope, there is definitely no weed in there". The jobsworth apologises and says "oh, I guess someone must have walked past with some or something". I say, "yeah, I guess so". I close my bag, walk off and think to myself, I fucking love Glastonbury - It's great to be back.

  3. Never been to Leeds but I have been to many a Reading Festival. I'm guessing they are very similar.

I was 17 when I first attended Reading  - I didn't miss a year there after until I was 29. It was about that time I started to feel a bit old for that kind of festival.

You have nothing to worry about yet :)

  4. I was hugely impressed with the long drops this year. The ones at our campsite remained clean and tidy for the entire weekend.

Seriously considering having some put in at home.

  5. If I were to travel from Liverpool, I would definitely go via train.

You will need to change at London but then it's just an hour and a half to Portsmouth Harbour where you get the boat to the Isle of Wight. Much quicker than a coach.

Why oh why did I come on here again

Haha...I was just thinking exactly the same. Starting to think this is just one big trolling thread.

  7. Work finishes at 4.30 for me. Then I will be heading straight home and trying to get to sleep as soon as I possibly can as I'm on the 4am boat from the Isle of Wight tomorrow.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. It's been real and it's been fun - but it wasn't all real fun.

Have a great Glastonbury you beautiful people.

  8. So that should be more or less it for the rain now. Nothing more than the chance of an odd shower for the rest of the week. Can the site dry out before we all arrive on Wednesday? I'm thinking we will be fine.

Just imagine if the festival had been one week earlier. Jeeeeeeezuz!!

    We have been so lucky.

  9. I'm noticing a pattern: every evening the forecast goes to shit, then we get a bit of a boost in the morning.

I can't believe how up in the air it all still is.

I will be wearing walking boots. Sod wellies!

Same. I'm not taking wellies - I hate them. The forecast is looking pretty good from Wednesday onwards. I'm taking a chance it will all be fine.
