Erm ... it's just the normal self-help guff. "If you do/think this, your life will be wonderful".

No, I'm talking about his psychology lectures. He released them all on YouTube - hours and hours of them. I'm studying psychology and find them brilliant.

I love Jordan Peterson because he looks enough like an an actual intellectual to make me feel ok about my deep hatred of trans people.

    Looks like an actual intellectual....haha

He may just be the greatest clinical psychologist that has ever lived.

You don't teach at eff Harvard and Toronto if you're not the very best at what you do.

The comment about hatred of trans people is just ridiculous. Another one who has never listened to a single word he has said.

He's a dangerous fraud and he can cram his 12 rules for life sideways right up his fuckpipe.

You should have a crack at actually reading the book before passing judgement.

Dangerous fraud is hilarious though. Nice one.

  4. Should easily get out of the group.

Last 16 tie with Colombia or Poland? Probably an even match; could go either way.

If we do make it to the quarters it's looking like Germany. We all know what happens there.

  5. Totland Bay is quite a way away from site. There certainly won't be shuttle busses running from out there.

Shouldn't be too much of a problem though. There will be plenty of busses running from Totland to Newport. Once you're in Newport bus station it's just a 10 minute walk to site.

I would check the time of last bus back to Totland though. I imagine that will be pretty early.

and then lots of old buggers in their 50s and 60s - mostly locals....

Henrik - I resemble that remark (not a local though)!

Good on you pal. I hope I'm still attending festivals when I'm 50+

My point being you can get away with it at IOW. I'm guessing you would feel pretty out of place walking around Reading Festival. I feel like I'm too old for Reading now. Pretty gutted about it after 12 consecutive years, but I've done my time and had a blast.

That's why I love Glastonbury: you wouldn't look out of place walking around at 70. IOW is the same.

  7. Plenty of shops in Newport will be serving alcohol. The main town is just a 10-15 minute walk away from site. Plenty of choice with Sainsburys, Lidl etc.  Buying alcohol will not be a problem at all.

Regarding age group, you will find lots of people around the same age as you. The IOW fest tends to attract lots of teenagers and people in their early twenties, and then lots of old buggers in their 50s and 60s - mostly locals.

I'm sure you will have a great time! Enjoy.  :)

so in my understanding with all the best intentions they will never sell out IOW.... just cant get the amount of people on the island off effectively.

    700,000 made it over in 1970 :D

The shit line-up is the reason it won't sell out, not the ferries. I think the vast majority of people come over as foot passengers.

know john and some of team and media.could of sold the fest right out just with early cheap tickets, but had to keep amount back for gen sale.it will sell out

Uh...cheap tickets are still available now. I know plenty of people who are waiting for them to stop selling them so they can sell their tickets on. Out of the 30 or so people I know who bought an early islander ticket, at least half of them are going to try and sell them on.

Terrible line-up in my opinion. A joke in fact. The IOW fest is in desperate need of someone who has their pulse on what music is actually relevant. I don't think they have a clue.

There is no way it will sell out.
