Not sure they are any heavier than Metallica, Motorhead or the early BMTH stuff we'll hear. I agree I can't see where they would fit as not really populist but I would also love to see them there. Sub BMTH would suit me!

Fingers crossed for Deftones. Oh, and if the guys in your profile pic could show up too, that would be just great! ;)

How do people know whether it's pish or beer? Do you follow the trail and get the litmus paper out?

If it hits you, it's beer. If it hits your mate who's standing next to you, it's piss.

  3. Contactless payment would be great. It's always a slight concern walking around the festival with large amounts of cash in your pocket. Especially after several trips to the Brothers Bar. You would like to think it may eventually deter those pesky tent thieves too. I got my wallet stolen from my tent one year at Reading. That really sucked.

shame there aren't as many fires in the campsite as there used to be

Why is this? I'm slumming it in the main campsites this year for the first time. One of the things I'm most looking forward to is being able to have a campfire. Are fires restricted to certain areas?

get right in at the front with others who also love the music, it will enhance your experience x10.

This is really good advice, and something it took me a long time to figure out. Standing at the back, half chatting, half watching the band is not a comparable experience to being up the front. You may as well be at a different show. If it's someone you really like, get in there!!

  6. Bestival is great. It's the only festival I have been to that I could compare to Glastonbury.

Obviously it's not as good - It's a hell of a lot smaller for a start. The site is cool though; you can wander about and discover things. It's not just a stage and a few tents in a field.

Hearing very good things about Boomtown too.

One of the joys of being at a festival is that you can divorce yourself from the outside world.  So why not switch your phone off.  Maybe just put it on a couple of times a day to check all is OK at home or to fix a meet up with mates.  That way pretty well any battery will last the fest.

I have already decided that I'm not taking a phone this year. I have been to over 30 festivals and this will be the first time I completely turn off the outside world - yep, I'm going complete gangsta. Not even the friends I'm attending with will be able to contact me if I go missing. Can't bloody wait.
