  1. Had to compromise on this one.

I really want to see the stones but all three of the other people I'm going with are insisting on watching Chase and Status. Even after me explaining that C&S will be at EVERY SINGLE festival we go to for the next 20 years, they wont budge.

I will be watching the first hour of the stones.

  2. So 2007 was horrific and 2010 was fantastic (think that's right). Did you guys know beforehand what you were in for or did it just kind of happen?

  3. Found the basic directions. To save anyone trawling back through the thread...

If you are approaching the site from the North or West please follow signs to Glastonbury town and then the A361 East towards Shepton. You will pick up signs to the Worthy View car park about a mile outside Glastonbury town heading East to the campsite car park. If you are approaching from the South and East use the A303 from further afield and then you will need to follow the A37 North. You will pick up signs for the Worthy View Car Park just before the Hill at Wraxall. Follow the signs to the car park using the one way system.

  4. I keep getting e-mails from Worthy View saying "please use the directions we sent you earlier and follow the signs"

They never sent me any directions??

I'm sure I will find it but would like to avoid the traffic that will be heading for the main car parks.

I was hoping they would provide a post code for the trusty sat nav but I guess not.

  5. A friend of a friend of mine has a cousin who is working at Glastonbury HQ.

He says they have lined up 'Meat Loaf' to replace Mumford if they have to pull out.

Not the most reliable of sources I know.

  6. Thanks for all the replies guys. You have sold it! I am hyped and ready to go.

    Things I will now definitely be trying thanks to you crazy cats on these message boards;

    1. Watch a headlining act on the pyramid stage - For me the actual line-up is not great but I'm treating that as a positive thing. I have absolute freedom, I don't have to be anywhere at a set time. I will however check out a headliner on the pyramid stage and I think it will be the stones.

    2. Watch the sunrise at the stone circle - Sounds fantastic! I'm all over it.

    3. Experience the randomness - This is what I love about the Bestival. The fact that if you take the time to wonder about, you will stumble across all kinds of weird and wonderful goings on. I wanna see as much as I can while I'm at Glastonbury.

Thanks again, have a great festival - I know you will!! :D

  7. Hi guys,

First up I just wanna thank all the contributors to this forum, I have been lurking and reading for quite some time and have picked up some valuable info whilst having a good laugh. Cheers

This year will be my first Glastonbury Festival and I'm literally counting down the days, I cant wait. I am by no means a festival virgin, with 11 Readings, 6 Downloads, 5 foreign festivals and 4 Bestivals under my belt, I actually consider myself somewhat of a festival veteran.

I have just never experienced the biggest of them all!

My question is...is it really actually that different? I have heard people say things like "you will not be prepared for what you find" and "it's like nothing else". I think im kind of expecting a massive Bestival?

    How far off am I?
