And I want to scream every time Whitty says "Next slide please".  Can't someone give him a clicker?

They plan to publish a plan to get Whitty a clicker for talking through the data behind the plans.

The clicker will be in place as soon as the pandemic is under control and the clicker, which cost 1000x the commercial rate from a newly established clicker company set up by a Tory's dog walker, will be almost completely useless.

  2. Feels like the floodgates are opening at the moment. My Spotify Release Radar has 15 new tracks befor a remix for the first time in months this week.

@priest17 cheers for the Goat Girl heads up in the week - more good stuff.

Excited for Bicep today, I preordered it on record so hoping it'll turn up today while I avoid streaming it.

Enjoying the new Royal Blood - they're successfully finding depth in their sound.

I have a flurry of gigs in April and May that I am just waiting to be cancelled now it seems. I expect when one goes the rest will fall like dominoes.

Just had a little look at my calendar for the first time in a while and prompted me to find out about a few reschedules that I hadn't even heard about.

First gig that hasn't been cancelled/postpone so far is mid April. I know Easter was a goal for getting back to normal but I can't see indoor gigs happening before any outdoor summer events as things stand.

Yeah I'm tempted by the ticket/album bundle but still unsure about buying tickets as I'm still pessimistic about getting to gigs this year

My view is buy the tickets and get a refund if/when I need to. Hopefully the cash not being in my accounts will support the artists and venues for the interim even if they end up giving it back. I fully appreciate not everyone has that luxury though.

Aye, thanks for that. They were great at Gorilla supporting Girl Band a few years ago and they've come on leaps and bounds since then so should be a top show.

Yup, saw them touring the first album in 2018 and they were fantastic at their own show too.

Tbh I'm pleasantly surprised at the ticket price too. I thought we might be paying a premium to compensate for the last year, probably more expensive cancellation insurance etc.

Anybody get involved with the new Four Tet album?

The 27 minute opener was a bit of a struggle! Some nice melodic stuff after that though.

That track is quite the slog. I'm not sure a minimalist epic is the paradox I need right now so still building up the courage to return to the rest of the album.

Thanks to @Brave Sir Robin et al for the Darkside mentions though. Been enjoying them this morning and must have missed them first time around

Half new - the new Moby album is the most wonderful thing I’ve heard this year. It’s a “quarantine DJ set” of the All Visible Objects album released in March. Which I liked. But what he’s done with this new one is taken it to a new level. Sublime.  And a transcendental video to accompany it. https://youtu.be/Ekxk_9eLIxg

Basically what @Quark said; AVO was probably my favourite album of 2020* (and most played on Spotify) so cheers for highlighting this.

*Not a vintage year for me though to be honest - despite most on here disagreeing. Not even bothered enough to rank

  8. I don't keep up with this thread, just check in every now and again so sorry if this has already been mentioned but Morrisons, Sainsburys and Tesco are all paying back the business rates that had been waved for Covid times. Some companies have taken advantage of this year, they don't deserve the airtime as we know who they are, but it's reassuring that there are also companies like this (and IKEA from memory who I think insisted on paying their staff without using the furlough scheme money) who are doing the right thing when they can.

They just said on politics live that we’ve got 30 million doses ordered and you need 2 jabs so that means 15m people can get vaccinated straight up. There’s 12.5m people in the governments ‘vulnerable’ category so we have enough to vaccinate them and then some.

Key workers (NHS staff especially) should be top of the list too. 30m will certainly make a huge dent.
