I'm going to one of the O2 nights next week. Can't say I'm a huge fan of anything post-Absolution but I'm intrigued by the show they'll put on.

The setlist was OK from last night. Distinct lack of Showbiz though.

  2. I agree but saw some headliner info so thought I'd throw it in the mix anyway.

In other news I saw Muse at the o2 last night and the production was incredible but I think the vast majority of it wouldn't work outside. I'm glad I got to see them at their own show this year so I can watch LCD on the Friday night without worrying about the clash.

  3. Interesting comment from EE about the headliners not planning to have guests: She said: “I’ve not heard anything about that, so i’m not sure if it is just hot air, and a tabloid rumour, or if it’s going to be real. I don’t think any of the headliners are bringing guests, so I’m not sure about that one to be honest.” from http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/glastonbury-2016-david-bowie-tribute-emily-eavis_uk_56fb9d36e4b0884065f00600

Not sure if they would have all of these sorts of things planned this far in advance though? And would the Eavii need to be made aware of guests?

There's also a bit of further non-info about the 'Several Bowie tributes' but I think that's being discussed elsewhere.

phoenix headlined coachella and the park in the same year.

It was JP but your point still stands...

Did they stress when or where? Would be a terrible shame for them to take up a big slot

No, they were just talking about Glastonbury being their highlight of last year and said that they would be back this year. Their popularity baffles me to no end.

  6. When I went to Bennicassim the headliners were on about half way through the bill. Although due to the heat out there the music didn't start until 8-9 in the evening and went on till 6am. The headliners would come on around midnight IIRC.

Very similar to Exit in Sebia. When I went in 2012 there was a rock(ish) headliner at about midnight then dance acts would take the stage for another 6 hours or so.

  7. I wouldn't get your hopes up for a secret set. It doesn't make much sense to have one in my opinion as the festival is still quite new and establishing itself.

Either way I've heard that the line up times will be out soon which should answer a few questions.

  8. The stage is still up from the Americas Cup concert that happened a few weeks ago that ended up being managed in part by the Victorious team (so I hear anyway). I'd imagine that they're keeping it up until Victorious now and using it as the new biggest stage. It is on the common the other side of the road approx where the words 'car park' are on the North West of the map posted by cammie above.

It's a fairly big structure and had a quite large screen either side of it for the Americas Cup event.

  9. For those not from the area worrying about where to stay, I wouldn't be too put off by having to stay in places a couple of miles away from the site. Taxis are VERY cheap. If you stay in the southern part of the island it shouldn't cost more than £5-10 each way even on the bank holiday. There are loads of B&Bs in Southsea which (as mentioned above) will probably hike prices/fill up but are a very short distance away.

  10. What are the chances of Calvin Harris playing? I'm sure he'd bring a crowd after such a successful album (hasn't it broken records regarding the amount of tracks from one album that have charted?)
