We managed to get about 10, personally didn't manage to get to even a waiting page!

The new White Lies is sounding good. Feels like a summer record to me though.
I really didn't get them until seeing them in the sun on the other stage a year or two back (2015?) so maybe that's just how I associate their sound.

Interview with Guy Garvey by Jo Wiley about the new album in case anyone is interested:

So just for comedy value.....anyone heard the new Robbie Williams track?
Had it on the new music playlist from Deezer in the car this morning; nearly crashed I was laughing so much. It's not a strong effort
It was one of the features tracks on Sunday Brunch at the weekend. Reacting similarly I was close to ejecting coffee through my nose.

I know this won't be out until this thread title is out of date but the Gorrillaz hypemobile is gaining momentum:

Looking forward to seeing what direction they take this one in.

Can't be fucking Elbow again. It would seem weird for them to release a new album and not be at Glastonbury, but id rather they didn't clog up the top of the Pyramid lineup again as a de-facto sub to the more 'alternative' headliner
Do you think Elbow could be dropped a position or two? They don't seem the sort of band that would be too proud, the venues they are playing on this tour are a lot smaller and the last album wasn't as commercially successful as the last 2 (I think, I've not checked figures). I also get the impression that they love the festival so may just want to play it without being fussy when?
I do think they're an ideal sunset band though.

Hold on a sec, you don't like Radiohead? You should have mentioned
It's the efests version of a vegan stereotype. Having to tell everyone as many times as possible.

Elbow seem to be stepping up their social media presence. I know they're in danger of being a house band but that pyramid sub slot suits them so well. Selfishly speaking subbing Radiohead would be an incredible evening.

I'm pretty sure he's never said that. There was a rumour about him not liking the pyramid sound, that's about it.
...and the old 'not wanting to become a house band thing' that gets quoted here

Ah OK. Makes more sense.
I don't get bad reactions when crowd don't know your stuff. I remember Springsteen realising that he wasn't going to get a big singalong from the crowd so he just ran with it.
the crowd at KoL were reacting well to everything. I heard that weekend that there might have been an issue with their on stage monitors that would usually give them a gauge of how the crowd was reacting, so they thought no one was enjoying it but in reality there were a lot of people lapping it up. I think it was a windy one so perhaps the mics in the crowd weren't picking up as much as they should. Of course this was all a long time ago and I know very little about such things so I may have been fed a load of rubbish.

I was there and remember the real version being far less enjoyable.

Thanks for the info. I'll weigh up the options in Nov.

With all the talk about Boomtown on here I'm pretty convinced that I'll get a ticket for next year. Online they say that tickets are available in November - do they usually do payment schemes? I'm terrible for budgeting so it'd be a bonus for me if they do.

In 2012 I went to Exit and Pahoda to fill the gap. I'm already thinking about what European festivals I might be able to go to in 2018.

Just in case there is anyone like me who would love to be there but can't be there is a stream from 7 this evening.

Major Lazer at 10:40 and a few tins on the sofa has my skint Friday night sorted.

I'm of the possible hypocritical view that a lone ranger/group of people going through the motions to get in is completely acceptable - stories from those such as Mr Twix Ninja and the chap who handglided in are good value and are people who will most likely contribute to the festival in many ways - not just financial.
I've really got a bee in my bonnet with these people who (claim at least to) go down there just to make money from it. It's made worse by this narcissist who at the very least is prone to a heavy douse of exaggeration.

I'm having to pace myself but managed to get Frank Turner and Chase and Status on this months paycheck.

I had a great couple of days at Victorious. Such great value even if you do have to pay through the nose for food and drink once in there. Highlights included Noel, Annie Mac, Wolfmother, PSB, Editors and a whole lot more.
Surprised to see fights and vomit being so prominent in your reviews @seanz25, I'm sure it happened but I was completely unaware of it. That could be because is was localised or perhaps because I was too drunk to take notice.
Struggled with the sound last night which is my only criticism. Apparently bods with sound apparatus were spotted in the local area so I'm sure it's to do with a few miserable selfish letter writers who can't see the value in thousands of people enjoying themselves and spending money.
As soon as pay day finally arrives I will be buying tickets for next year.

I think if anyone needed proof that Foals are capable of headlining then tonight at Reading should do the job. Looked brilliant

My ticket was bought by a friend of a friend of a friend, who shall be receiving a few ciders when I meet her. I always think of Glastonbury as one big team and ticket time is no different.
