If the payment fails and you're still within your 5 mins you can try again.

Thanks! One of our group is out in Australia and we've been worrying that he may get through and scupper the process. At least if it does fail we can call him and pass on one of our card details we'll still be fine.

  2. 10 of our regular Glasto group trying for a newbie. Spent the last week or so explaining all the intricacies and tips of the sale, a proper regimented approach, letting him know how hard and serious this sale is.

He gets through in 4 minutes and now thinks we're all absolutely nuts for worrying all week 😐

Just one final group to sort out on Sunday now - best of luck to all those in the same boat!

  3. I reckon there's an absolute ton of tickets available tonight. Imagine how many groups have drifted or couples split in the last 2 and a half years who are no longer willing to get a coach - potentially long distanced - together?

    Best of luck all!

*This is based on absolutely bugger all but its filling me with the pre-sale confidence i need!*

In a weird sadistic sort of way I'm missing that pre-ticket sale buzz.

Mines slowly crept in the last couple of days. Im all sorted but we're after one more for a friend who's never been before, which i think is ramping up the nerves / excitement / anxiety even more!

    I thought they’d sorted that hadn’t they?

As in, you’ve got 5 mins to finish the transaction once on that page?

    I’m not too sure?
This is to deal with the issue though if the page crashes, like a white unresponsive screen. What do you do then? Im sure it’s been said on here to always click back instead of refresh….

Reckon there’s zero chance he’s playing before dark unless he’s playing multiple sets (which is possible).

Feel like Kieran isn’t one to be too fussed about where he plays really other than a good light show.

Probably based on my only previous experience of seeing him but ive never felt Four Tet as much as a mid-afternoon act, more of the big showstopper at the end of the day.

Remembered after posting that hes got that 5 hour (i think?) set in Finsbury park this summer, so yeah, clearly going to be playing during the daytime.

Regardless of where he plays i'm sure hell absolutely smash it once again!

Yeah, we’re wondering the same thing in another thread atm too. He’s hard to place.

Think headlining John Peel is possible - Four Tet, Charli XCX and Primal Scream are big JP headliners if that’s the trip.

Yeah i cant imagine him playing before dusk, or atleast ending before the suns down. Yeah i think JP is the favourite surely? West holts or Park the only other options i suppose. Huge coup IMO for any of those stages to land him anyway!

  9. Having been blown away by Four Tet twice before at Lost Village festival - both up there with my favourite festival sets of all time - i'm over the moon hes announced. But for the life of me i cant work out where he'd play / where he'd be best? Cant be playing too early IMO so surely head headlining one of the stages?

They will both go to whatever address she entered on the confirmation page. That will be the same address as on her registration unless she chose a different address for any reason.

Unless you changed the address, yes.

Thanks both. Still have my address down as my parents and my mums general nonchalant outlook on Glastonbury panics me every year when the tickets are being delivered.

Will go to the address of the lead booker when you paid the balances not when you paid the deposits.

So as we both paid the balance this morning with her account as the lead booker, both of our tickets will be delivered to her address as per her registration?

  12. Just paid for mine and the Gfs but noticed only one 'delivery address' came up at the end, which is that of the lead bookers? I have a different delivery address attached to my registration, so was wondering if itll be delivered to my address or my Gfs who was the lead booker?

It's only my opinion, but the strokes was one of the most dull concerts I watched and I like the music, black keys at Glastonbury a few years back also dull as dish water.

They're definitely hit or miss. APE was pretty poor but i'm putting that down to the sound issues, whereas their gig at the Roundhouse 2 years ago was something special. Undoubtably my favourite act so i'm naturally a little biased, but having the chance to see them at my favourite festival would top it all i'm sure.

I keep banging on about The Strokes - but they are only playing Lytham in England so far and that was advertised as “sole north of England show” and they don’t have any south of England shows yet. Could they be other stage headliners ? They’ve never done GLASTO.

I'd half expected them to have announced their 'South of England' show by now. Im not really sure what other festivals / gigs they could be doing that hasn't been announced yet? Its unlikely they're doing a UK tour with the exclusivity attached to Lytham festival, so it's surely an outdoor gig they've got planned....

You're not obliged to do a night shift, nah. First year I went I avoided doing one. I chose to do one second time.

I think it works out that the earlier you sign up, the more priority you'll get to be allocated your preferred shifts.

Sign up as in pay the deposit? Or signing in when i arrive at the festival? So you actually get a say in which shifts you would prefer?

Apologies for the questions, i've only ever worked for Oxfam before and they just allocate them out at random without any input from those volunteering.

Not sure when the cut-off is, but I just had a look through my emails and I can see I applied to volunteer at the end of April for the 2018 festival. In 2019 I applied earlier. Pretty sure one of my mates didn't get on board til closer to the summer than April that year but I'm not 100% sure on that.

The volunteering through eventree is the easiest thing ever. I've always had success with getting the shifts I wanted too so I've never missed any must see bands. Missed barely any of the music at all, in fact. Think I missed the Thursday night one year and the Sunday afternoon/early evening another. Everything else was a night shift or early morning or something. They were all 6 hour shifts the years I did it (7am-1pm, 1pm-7pm, 7pm-1am, or 1am-7am).

They look after you with food and hot drinks for a tiny cost too (about a fiver for unlimited soup/toast/cereal/coffee for the whole festival).

I think in the two years I volunteered I probably did about 3 hours of actual work in total in the carpark. You're pretty much allocated an area of the festival just so if something does happen then there's a steward knocking about to report it. You don't actually have to do any work unless you're unlucky.

If anyone in 2019 asked a steward for directions to the carpark and got told "dunno mate", then you probs spoke to me.

Perfect - thanks for the detailed response.

Due to the dates its only really Wilderness i can do with Oxfam, so i'm thinking of volunteering at Green Man instead. Seems the shifts are a little easier / shorter and the lineup and general vibe seems a lot more me than Wilderness.

Does everybody have to do a nightshift? Im also likely to be volunteering alone so was wondering if theres any channel to link up with other people going solo?

Wouldn't chance it. My mate had a funeral pop up at the last minute a few years back so he had to sack off the volunteering a week or so before the festival. His emails explaining the circumstances were just ignored; he never even got a response to confirm the deposit wasn't refundable.

Someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they tend to be oversubscribed for volunteers. Doubt she needs to sign up this far in advance.

Don't suppose you know how late i could possibly apply to volunteer? Ive noticed the website says you can split the £210 deposit into two instalments up to the end of March, so im assuming you can still apply after this?

Does anybody have any insight into what it's like volunteering at the festival with eventree? Less hours required than volunteering through Oxfam, plus also no guarantee of having to work a dreaded night shift!
