Last year when they did this March, they had made two previous name announcements.

This year there’s only been one.

Ahh i didnt realise that, hopefully means this next drop will be a big one then

They just completed the line up for BBK. Heading to see young fathers tonight and buzzing to see they are on the poster. Would love to see them added to la cala also. Up there in the top 5 live bands for me

Wow, just seen the final poster now. Was extremely underwhelmed by their first announcement but its shaped up to be one hell of a lineup! Yeah Young Fathers would be great, their latest album is AOTY for me so far. Enjoy the gig tonight!

Yesterday's Instagram post says stay tuned for more news, so really expecting something today or tomorrow

Yeah don't think it'll be long now, last year they had a second poster drop on the 2nd March (i think that was the date) so assuming nothings changed we should have one soon 🙂

Green Man and Reading have announced full lineups more or less for August.

And Pukkelpop has now added these names (potential for overlap?) so now have three times as many as Cala Mijas.

    Tom Odell
    Ben Böhmer
    Jessie Ware
    Aitch
    Giant Rooks
    Dylan
    Luude
    VTSS
    Knocked Loose
    Muna
    Altin Gün

    TV Girl
    2ManyDJs

Great, so providing Cala Mijas announce's something in the next week or so they'll all be at similar stages in relation to the gap between announcements and the festival starting.

Would much rather wait a little longer and get a few extra surprises than some of the sub-par lineups around this summer.

None of them will be doing solo dates one or two days before Boygenius dates start for the same reason Bjork isn't going to be doing a regular show two weeks before Cornucopia.

oh yeah, wishful-thinking more than anything!

With nothing seriously concrete to go on i reckon we could be in with a few surprises tomorrow - hopefully pleasant!

March tomorrow and we still only have 14 names in total.

    In your own time, guys!

Its still over 6 months away and we've already got a solid set of acts announced! Many a festival don't announce anything until around 6 months or less, so this is nothing out of the ordinary.

Saying that, i am fully ready for the next lineup drop. Few friends on the fence but i feel a few extra solid bookings and this'll be booked in no time.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jamoriquai, Phoenix, Boy Genius, LCD - any of them would do nicely

I've been to Mad Cool and FIB. Its a similar vibe to FIB but on a larger scale and better surroundings. 2 main stages, a smaller stage and a good sized dance area. Attendees quite a mixed well behaved crowd.

Accommodation in the area is very reasonable this year and last year.

After been the first year its not a festival I think I'd ever miss if the line up is even half decent.

    Thanks for the response!

Is it possible to get the festival from La Cala de Mijas on foot? Seen there's a few good accommodation options there, so be ideal if we didnt have to rely upon taxis / shuttle buses to get back and too.

Is there much going on in the town during the day? One of my favourite things at Beni was being able to wonder into the town during the day and having a few drinks and some food away from the campsite, so would love something similar!

  7. Still keeping an eye on whether the Strokes announce anymore EU dates before booking.

For those that went this year, how does it compare to other EU festivals? I've attended NOS, Mad Cool, Primavera and FIB / Benicassim before, and feel this is likely to be most similar to FIB, in terms of attendees, setup, facilities? Also, private accommodation for it seems to be way cheaper than any of the others i've attended? Anyone else noticed this?

Looking forward to the next additions to the lineup, last year they added both Liam Gallagher and Chemical brothers following the first drop, so another two high calibre names and it'll be up there as one of the best lineups this summer im sure!

Would be a weird sub vibe-wise, surely more suited to being an Other Stage headliner against GnR.

Does that really matter? From memory we've had some pretty strange 1-2s at the pyramid - Tame Impala and Adele for example.

Wednesdays have always been a sort of "gift" to the city. However with an arena-size act like PSB i reckon it would easily reach capacity if it’s still on the Primavera stage. But maybe the Wednesday will get moved to the main stages.

I just assumed with it being on the main poster this would be a given for those with tickets! Seems slightly misleading for those who haven’t been before.

So do these gigs usually reach capacity in the forum? I’d have thought that PSB would be on the main stage due to their size and the fact there’ll be no competition around the site…

I wonder how hard it'll be to get into the free concert on the Wednesday. I know they've done it before but Pet Shop Boys are much bigger than the likes of  Suede, Belle & Sebastian, Jesus & Mary Chain* etc

So even though that Wednesday gig is on the main poster for the full festival and not just the midweek gigs, there’s actually no guarantee that ticket holders will be able to get in and see it?

    Made a 2023 thread -

Anyone who went last year able to give me their presale link? Presale is only for past attendees which is a pain!

Bumping this just in case anyones now willing to give up their code!!
