It does seem like a stretch, but there are people talking about Bastille as a Reading coheadliner so I guess if Bastille could do Community it wouldnt be that much of a stretch for Foals to do it?
Bastille are about the top end of what you can expect for Community, and they’re not headlining Reading or Leeds any time soon.

I’m late for work. So I’ll be brief.
If any men want an eye-opener, have a search on Twitter: someone poses the question to women what they’d do if there was a male curfew, worldwide, at 9pm EVERY night.
Why not all people have curfew???

Starting to think I imagined Foals headlining Reading.

Tool have just been added to Rock Werchter
Good.
Does that mean Kendrick Lamar is unlikely to feature now? Up to six headliners here.

What about those bands that are in another festivals but haven't been announced yet?
Alice In Chains / Architects (i guess they will surely play) / Within Temptation / Godsmack / As I Lay Dying / Dropkick Murphys / Slayer (guess will play too)
Papa Roach are at Greenfield. They'll surely be added.

I don't think Michael will have any problem apologising to Hawkins.

Possibly. But Nick Cave/Patti Smith are the same generation.
That's true, but I think Nick Cave, at least, is a bit more trendy nowadays. And there's just something about it where I can't really imagine New Order having been at the top of any of the bills this year. Whereas the likes of KC and Victorious have drawn crowds where it's Hooky and/or Hacienda Classical playing New Order songs. Just my instinct really, it has been wrong many times recently.

Did @eFestivals ever reply to your post asking about his BMTH info? Cause obviously if he has heard about them doing APE I'd have to swap them in for someone - probably old Cliff Byrne.
Nah. If they were hypothetically playing APE Presents then it won't be announced until they sell out their second Ally Pally. But I think we'll know by then one way or the other.

As an aside he comes across as a right miserable bastard on twitter
Nah he's a top one.

I kinda think they'll be next on Broadwick Live's radar. Doing all the Y Not's and Kendals and such. I think they might be a generation above All Points East.

You gonna bring the table with you as well, smart guy?

Can only add NIN. Maybe Black Keys if they come back ever, and on a similar note I still think Bombay Bicycle Club could headline the festival off of a reunion. AEG are soooo rich though, we could be really surprised at who they summon.
I'm thinking VW, Disclosure and pottos head for the fest, and Strokes, Pumpkins and Byrne for APE Presents. Was thinking earlier about switching Byrne and Foals but fook it.

My thoughts on the Other opener in general.

One of my mates can't go to Underworld at WHP next Friday so if anyone wants to buy his ticket hmu tonight. I'll put it on twickets tomorrow otherwise.
Off to see The Rasmus tonight, as uncool as that would have been ages ago never mind in 2018. They were one of my very very favourite bands from the age of about 8 to 14 so I'm expecting a top night tbh. Can't beat nostalgia.
Six years? They were my fave band for about a month when In the Shadows was on Kerrang! TV*. How do you put six years into them? Have a good time anyway.
*when it was first on, I mean - it's probably still on there.

After some considered thought about them today, The Darkness are the men for the job.

TBF if James can play an hour set with just one song people actually know then anything can happen.
James' second most well known song is more established than any of The Bloc Party's catalogue, make no mistake.
But yea, all the acts to have played the Other opener slot so far are types you could imagine warming the crowd at a mid-sized family festival or Radio 2 in Hyde Park. Bloc Party, while similarly past their heyday, are not that band.

Dental, you’ll know: what’s happened to Claire Boucher?
She’s not in orbit in a Tesla Roadster is she?
No, she escaped Mark Corrigan.
She collaborates with a bunch of artists nowadays but isn't seemingly bringing anything out herself. Guessing it's down to problems with her record label, because she's had those forever. Features on the new Bring Me The Horizon album, which is bad news for people who love good music.

He's more or less called Roasthard Ashcroft. It's not so much a name as an instruction.
Even Clumbo got in on the act the other day, apparently burning a copy of the NME with himself on the cover - which, in practice, is figuratively and almost literally a self-burn.

This is what I got. Could do with a bit of shuffle here and there but you get the idea.
Friday
Py: Lady Gaga, The Streets, Iggy Pop, Anderson .Paak. Bombay Bicycle Club, Idles, Salif Keita
OS: Aphex Twin, Jamie xx, Giggs, Blossoms, Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes, Courtney Barnett, AJ Tracey, Confidence Man, Bloc Party

Pa: Jarvis Cocker, SophieSaturday
Py: The Cure, Liam Gallagher, Dua Lipa, Solange, Billy Ocean, Kamasi Washington, Joan Armatrading
OS: Lana Del Rey, Weezer, Years & Years, The Wombats, Anne-Marie, Tom Grennan, Miles Kane, Maggie Rogers, Nina Nesbitt
WH: Groove Armada, Chaka Khan, Tom Misch, Blood Orange, Fatouma Diawara
JP: Christine & the Queens, Mura Masa, Vince Staples, Pale Waves, Car Seat Headrest
Pa: Bicep LIVE, Django DjangoSunday
Py: Paul McCartney, Lauryn Hill, George Ezra, Kylie Minogue, Tash Sultana, Greta Van Fleet, Kate Tempest
OS: Disclosure, Jess Glynne, Tom Odell, Brockhampton, Leon Bridges, Sigrid, Fickle Friends, The Magic Gang, Estrons
WH: Orbital, Jungle, The John Butler Trio, Toots & the Maytals, IamDDB
JP: Lily Allen, Caribou, Charli xcx, Parquet Courts, Shame
Pa: Loyle Carner, Rex Orange CountySome nice acts for sure, although they're almost completely avoiding The Park and the Other Stage. Also think Orbital and Groove Armada both headlining WH would be a bit stodgy.
6 minutes ago, sisco said:I know a lot of people have Bloc Party opening the other stage but surely they’re one of the few with a chance of Headlining it?
Nah they'd be somewhere about 3rd or 4th down. I don't think they're a suitable opener though; I know they're past their best but they aren't really canonical with James, Charlatans, Pretenders or even Kaisers.

I see that the 'fork has unsurprisingly gone to town on Greta Van Vleet in a way that would cause that hippie to drop his laptop.
I used to think they were called Greta Van Vleet which sounded okay like a Dutch name or something, but the actual name sounds like a group of commercial vehicles and that harshes my vibe.
Thing I realised about the hippie laptop boys the other day is that they're only just bringing out their debut full-length and they're selling out shows that are $50 a pop because the boomers they attract are gonna think that's the going rate for a rock show.
Haven't listened to this album yet and was only gonna do it for the shits and giggles so the scathing review hasn't rocked anything. I like that they're kind about The Darkness in it.

There is enough previous to indicate that The 1975 could easily be doing both R&Land Glasto, personally I find is hard to believe they'll be over in June and not appear.
They're based in Britain afaik. They'll be over anyway.

Have they claimed any acts as exclusive yet? It'll certainly be Slipknot's only UK fest, too.
Claimed Def Leppard's only UK show. That's the only one I'd have been bothered about in a lower slot at Glastonbury, tho I don't think they'd take one.
Last Download people kept going on about SOAD not being exclusive then they just didn't do any other UK shows. Maybe LN are not ruling anything out wrt more Slipknot and Tool but they probably aren't doing anything else all the same.

Was admittedly surprised to see but I don’t get why they’d mail the Die Antwoord logo one around if they weren’t in a decent position. Granted they’re not a metal act but they’re not nobodies.
Zippo headline feels kind of right because they could go up against any of those headliners, whereas a trio of Trivium, Within Temptation and Rob Zombie would have to shut early on Saturday and Sunday.
@Gucci Piggy don’t get duped by the logo placing. Remember that fella on about the font size of Slayer that time?

I was thinking about MBV supporting the Pumpkins. Hadn't thought at all about the possibility of Spiritualized playing.
Just wanna god dang announcement now. If it's not 7ish tonight then I don't have good feelings for this week.
