Word is he's playing one of the APE dates - though obviously it's yet to be seen how those will interact with Glastonbury in terms of exclusivity. Could see Goldenvoice being pushier about it.

Yeah I guess they are pretty stern when it comes to BST.

Think Bon Iver would be set for a Pyramid sub slot. Just can’t see an Other headline slot happening. Too sad. ☹️☹️☹️

Was hoping (based on nothing at all) that Frank Ocean was gonna show up at this next year, I think Bon Iver being there is bad news for me as it probably means that has virtually no chance of happening now. Bit too similar to have those headline 2 of the 3 nights I think. Unless Bon Iver is APE.

They were both booked to headline Primavera last year so I don't see it being a problem.

Really surprised nothing's been announced yet. 11 days now since they blacked out the website for a change.

What are the chances of Dylan deciding to do a couple of big shows where he decides to play the hits in a way that people actually want to hear? Only way I can see IOW and Hyde Park happening, really.

He could do his normal show at Hyde Park. It’s just a gig innit. IOW would probably be a poor fit, yeah.

Forgot that those two have shared in the past, as I only mentioned that as it contradicts this IOW fella’s info. Still don’t think he’s on the money like.

they're the one possible outsider to what I said, as I have heard something vague from someone who I know to normally be well informed. And yet...

I think if there was really anything to it, that rumour would be going round a lot more than it seems to be, because these things do tend to leak out in one way or another.

So while i'm not ruling it out entirely, I'm not really getting a feeling about it.

You only got indication that they had been offered, rather than signed up, right? Maybe there’s trouble snaring a third name.

  5. Yeah, JV took time off for personal troubles and this is just an extension of the same tour. Would be nice if he did surprise us with one but it may also be pretty unreasonable to expect a new album.

I think, of any possible APE headliners, Bon Iver are about the most likely to do that and Glastonbury in tandem. Justin seems to be there every other year.

The Cure seem nailed on for this. Also, are we sure Muse are ruled out? They have both Madrid and Lisbon on their list and I wouldn't be surprised if that meant Mad Cool/Nos. There are rumours the cities announced are a stadium/arena solo gigs, but so far I haven't seen anything to confirm that (or does anyone have better info, source?). As to why they didn't have Belgium on that list being now confirmed for Werchter, - including Werchter on that list would be too much of a giveaway, as you couldn't possibly think they were doing a solo gig there rather than the festival, wouldn't it?

It wasn't just a list of locations; they were locations that you could get presale access to by preordering the album. So obviously they wouldn't have Werchter because they wouldn't get presale access to Werchter, and the same is true for why Madrid doesn't mean Mad Cool.

Facebook write up gives them same billing, so on the posters it’s probably just a design thing.

The Vaccines headlined last year didn’t they? So they do get some quite good bookings at this.

I dunno, it's the same order they're announced on everything.

Anyway, regardless of all that I think Metronomy would be best suited to third down at this. Metronomy>MGMT>Vamps Weeks would be hot.

Metronomy seem to be back next year, could sub on vampire weekend day?

Seem like a sure thing for one of the APE days if they're free.

I don't know if I'm reading into it a bit much but they seem low down on that Live at Leeds bill - they seem to be billed after Sundara Karma and Tom Grennan on each of the posters released, which is wild to say they were headlining the stage SK next-to-opened at Glastonbury last year. I guess the real measurement is what  venue they play.

  9. I'd say that Gazza can give out as good as he gets sometimes and has had his share of warnings, so it's not exactly coming from a random place, if that's what people are suggesting. The personal insults and the dredging of his private life (something he seems to mistakenly believe I have been involved with or supportive of - if he reads this, I am not) is detestable though and instantly kills off anything that might have initially been jovial.

It's probably not a bad idea to have a dedicated thread for discussing the state of gender politics in music really. If we keep the topic open continuously instead of letting it crop up in other threads whenever an abuser is outed I'd assume we'd have a more worthwhile discussion.

We as a whole in here could come up with a small set of guidelines to put in the OP of said thread, to highlight what it's for and agree to self police it. What's the concencus on that?

Seems well-intended but I don't really know what one would update that thread with, and I think the natural flow of discussion as it is informs more people than a dedicated thread. Plus, when there's something that seems to pertain to gender politics at Glastonbury, then someone would usually open a thread up specifically.

I would like it to be known that I am calling for a boycott of all men making music.

It’s Charli or death from now on lads.

Got massive Charli vibes off the new MØ record. Old Charli, like, before she turned left and set a course to exist in a dimension of her own.
