I don’t think Cher would agree to play the legends slot if Madonna is headlining the same day. They famously do not get along & I can’t see Cher’s ego letting her play below Madonna.

Deftones are exclusive to Primavera. Spiritbox are exclusive to R&L. Deftones, Korn & Lacuna Coil all played Download 22. Some of the smaller bands could still be added. Download is trying to evolve, and rightfully so. The lineup might not be everyone’s cup of tea but at least it’s not the same old bands on repeat again.

Might sound strange but it could be Madonna. If she’s playing BST around that time, she’ll have her tour set up for festivals & there aren’t many other acts that would/could demand that type of fee, save perhaps AC/DC, the Stones, Swift.

They headlined 4th in 2022, last tour or not, they’re not suddenly jumping up to headline 2nd or play 3rd on main.

Me either, because it isn’t true. Metallica got the call to headline late on when Prince pulled out of discussions again. Sonisphere agreed for Metallica to play Glastonbury because it was already sold out & they thought the exposure would help them shift more tickets for Knebworth. Metallica were never, ever, booked to headline the other stage.

Same on the BBC. They also have form for that, this year they announced Queens of the Stone Age for Glastonbury when they weren’t on the first official lineup release. So I’d expect Shikari to be announced in the new year.

She did that back in 2011 when it was hard rock calling, so I could see that happening again.

They weren’t a last minute booking, but they were a last minute bump up to headline. The original plan was for them to sub to Foo Fighters. Edit: I’m not doubting your info or calling you a liar, I know you’ve had good info.

Respect that this is pretty realistic, but that undercard does very little for me. I hope it doesn’t end up too much like that.

Plenty of bands do back to back dates in different countries.

Madonna has sold 400 million worldwide according to Guinness, the highest figure I can find anywhere for Reg is 300 million. That’s fair, possibly an age thing… But she has 13 UK number one singles, and 63 top 10 UK hits. There aren’t many headliners that can bring that sort of back catalogue to a set. (Now, whether she chooses to play them or not is a different matter.)
