  1. Backstreet Boys are touring...
  2. Thr current system favours larger groups, as it's more people trying. And more exponentially as a couple who ask all their friends is still less than 6+ who do the same. Some of those large groups still fail, supply/demand and all that but they do have a better chance. Whether by ballot or other means it would be interesting to see how protecting smaller groups would be. Some people don't have large circles and also deserve to go to the festival. It's pot luck but the odds aren't stacked evenly currently. *full disclosure I got mine this year, I've held this view in successful and unsuccessful years.
  3. been to a couple in Europe that marked out pitch size and insisted on tent size. I don't see any UK ones going down that route. I do feel for people who can't get there for opening though, it can make a big difference to the weekend.
  4. Grace Cummings was wonderdful at Manc Psych fest. One of the shows of the year for sure.
  5. Had a great weekend. Only got there late Friday, enjoyed Kraftwerk but agree it was one of the chattier crowds - I think a lot of heritage suffer that. It can be a bit box ticking for people. In contrast I was amazed how attentive people were on Sunday for Kiwanuka who was a highlight. Really enjoyed Carwyn Ellis, thought it sounded brilliant. Bicep was great too. Deptford Northern Soul Club an excellent end to the weekend. Really there was more variety to the after dark stuff, not everything has to be electronic to be late night. The atmosphere at Deptford was so good, it really felt others were itching for a change of pace at night. Be nice for a band rather than a DJ/dance act to take up somewhere I think. kids...tough one innit, at times it did my head in but others it was quite joyous to see them enjoying it. I think you could tell which parents were aware it could be annoying for others and the ones that seem entitled with it. Humanity I guess. Those ear defenders just reduce decibels so they can hear what's going on. I had a chat with my mates kid and she didn't need to take them off to speak to me.
  6. Weird it's listed on their tour dates too
  7. Beatles Dub Club list green man in their summer shows, looks like they'll do chai wallahs a fair bit. Bit daft but bet it's good fun.
  8. Huge oversaturation of events in the capital isn't there. Think before people could justify the train/accommodation a lot easier but feeling the pinch in every direction.
  9. https://discoverthebluedot.com/2022highlights curious link found on insta that doesn't seem indexed on the main site. Lancaster doing the ale again, fine enough but with Buxton and Thornbridge much closer it's a bit socks'n'sandles innit. Bollington probably the nearest and again a better choice would have said.
  10. Heads up for anyone using Central Tickets - Just cancelled my Weller ones because I've got covid, not only no refund (didn't expect one really) but I've been handed a 6 week ban for cancelling any of my first 3 orders.
  11. A reply from the fest to someone on social media
  12. This was my exact reaction. Tory in all but constituency.
  13. Ah shit that's a loss to the line up was excited about BGC
  14. 4 "day" tickets or a 4-day ticket? The site is as legit as legalised touting goes, but there's no such thing as split out tickets for different days. We're a bit early for the genuine resale market, people realise they can't/covid/cost of living out of it in the weeks before so it's probably safer to sit tight for the official partner for reselling.
  15. Did someone start a rough clashfinder? Spied one the other day but its down. just a gauge at this stage innit, hard to know how it'll fall like
  16. just bagged Weller there nice one
  17. is that defo confirmed? 19th is first day of lowlands, so could be a placeholder (like it says green man 18th) but couldn't see anywhere they confirm it specifically. As an aside how horrible is the lowlands website? Aside from very obvious accessibility issues, never known a migraine of a site like it
  18. Beach House is Saturday according to their European booking agent's website. Result that, happy enough to miss them for Bicep as I've seen them a bit
  19. Nick Cave would have fit the old model for a headliner I reckon. Cave chems plus another, maybe a Scottish headliner? Mogwai would make sense.
  20. Reckon there's one to be announced looking at it. A small announcement in the summer led by an orbit headliner?
  21. Ah man that's awful and disappointing to hear. Beasties the highlight for me. And first time outside of glasto the food was great, think I've just blanked out the weather, the journey up etc..
  22. Four headliners Jeremy? Four? That's insane
  23. Ha indeed it was but I think it was the first time I was prepared for the conditions..
