yeah it looks like it has jumped back westward and is heading towards glasto. if it does miss it though it will be by inches. the other positive point is that it is nowhere near as big as it was before...

finally got lightning and thunder in Southampton...least it's this evening and not tomorrow (so it'll have all night with noone really walking/driving over the site to dry up)

Still no rain though...

I've been watching these two sites:

http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/live_storm_data.htm

http://www.wincantonweather.org.uk/StormVue.html

and they are showing completely different things now. I just noticed the text at the top:

"When tracking UK Thunderstorms, it seems that if there is a storm in close proximity to our detector, generating very strong signals, and there is a weaker storm further away, but on a similar bearing as the close one, the further storm may not be correctly identified."

so I am believing the Wincanton which looks much better from a festival goers point of view!

But I'm starting to wonder if I am taking this weather thing too seriously...

think that was the support act to the main event - the one coming out of France is about 6 times the size and just leaving France now!

just to add that it seems to be arcing slightly back eastward too - following very much the same line of the storms this afternoon..

the forecasts that I have seen and the general concensus as we go through the day show showers for today, tomorrow and early thursday - though today the site has had nowhere near what the forecasters predicted ;) BUT, a lot of heavyish rain is predicted for late Thursday / Friday, but with the way that the weather keeps changing there is no way IMO that this can be trusted - the weather still up in the air for me (no pun intended)...

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
