Thanks for this, tis kind of what I thought, but wasn't sure ...

<prays for todays update or tomorrow's, or Thursday's, to revert to how things looked yesterday (and those still didn't look brilliant, but a good deal better than now)>

Worrying days ... :(:(

We are so fukken OWED a Glasto reliably and correctly predicted to be hot and dry throughout, with that forecast applying from weeks beforehand, with the forecast and ground conditions unchanging. That's so not going to be 2007 though ...

AAAAAAARRRGGHHH!!!

I am SICK AND TIRED of wet Glastos.

;)

I want it to be DRY. Hot would be great, but dry is essential. I want to be able to sit on the grass. I want to be able to walk around the camp in socks without the threat of soaking my tent when I turn in for the night.

I want to wake up with the sun shining through the door in my tent having forgotten to close it the night before.

I DO NOT WANT TO WALK AROUND TO THE SOUNDS OF SLUDGE, SPLAT, SLUDGE, SPLAT, SLUDGE.

3 wet Glastos out of 3 is NOT AN OPTION.

I don't know who to bribe to FORCE them into making this one dry, but I'm willing to do it.

And it's NOT fun, and it DOESN'T make people enjoy the festy more. People would enjoy it MORE WITH SUN AND NO RAIN.

Langdale Wolf + Glasto ticket + sun = absolute contentment + feeling of utter bliss

Langdale Wolf + Glasto ticket + rain = happy enough, chuffed to bits to be there but needing vast quantities of real ale to chill the f**k out and cheer up!

Yes, I will enjoy myself regardless, but I WILL enjoy myself MORE without any bastard precipitation!!

RAIN CAN JUST GO AND F**K OFF!!!!!!

:P:(:(:(;)

Metchecks front page Monsoon Article....

European Monsoon

Added : Sun 10 June : 12:51BST

Funny enough, but the amount of people who think monsoons are restricted to the Asian continent is pretty high.

Europe, does in fact have its own monsoon, and this week sees the second wave (of three) push in from the Atlantic.

A monsoon, occurs because of the heating differences on a huge scale. As we approach the longest day of the year, so the European plateau heats up quickly, however the Atlantic only warms slowly.

This vast temperature difference literally "sucks" the air from the Atlantic towards Europe in the form of frontal systems and heavy rainfall.

The change happens midweek as low pressure rattles in from the West. From Thursday, some exceptionally wet weather will push in across the British Isles.

So, whilst in June, one thinks about endless sunshine, scorching temperatures and white legs... in reality it's usually far worse thanks to the seasonal transition which is the European Monsoon.

What the f*ck do they mean 'second wave (of three)' when and what is 'three'...?

You were banned over there because of fukking about with mulitple identites, you liar.

I'm about to put you ignore (been told how). They ONLY reason you're here is to be a trolling bloody nuisance generally, and your track record elsewhere proves this. You have zero genuine interest in festivals. And a banned leopard doesn't change its spots.

I've been consistently on topic in this thread.

Panic about tickets and panic about weather, you know its that time of year again with one week to go.

Weather wise i always ask my Grandad, a farmer in somerset. His method is to go and have a chat with his cows. In 05 was spot on and this year he has said not gorgeous sun, but no rain, just warm and cloudy.

I hope that his predictions are true to form!

He's on ignore now, first EVER for me here on efests ... his serial troll status will be clear enough to oters anyway soon enough no doubt, just that I hapened to know his history.

Ignoring twats feels good. And brings an end to it!

Back to being unchilled about the weather ...

I got all optimistic about the weather a couple of days ago, but am now offically kecking it again, especially with this talk of European Monsoons, which I seem to remember reading about elsewhere recently as well

FROM : BBC

18th - 24th Jun

“Warming up in the east”

After a spell of cooler weather in eastern coastal areas, winds will arrive from the west or southwest so the highest temperatures will be in the sheltered east. Areas of low pressure are expected over the north of Scotland at times bringing some rain or showers.

On the whole, southern parts of Britain will stay drier. However, many parts of the UK can expect to see at least some rain at times with the greatest amounts across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Sunshine amounts are expected to be near average.

This reads more and more like a horoscope than a prediction.

Can someone (anyone) tell me what average rainfall and average sunshine is for this time of year in the South West (or more especially in BA4) ??

:(

Mystic Meg could write a better forcast than this.

:(

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
