Has anyone done Balaton Sound? Would they recommend it or not and why?

Is anyone doing 2018 solo?

Here I am! I've been there 4 times and I totally recommend it. The place is one the most beautiful places in Europe for a festival, 2km of beach on a beautiful lake, the weather is almost always wonderful and the festival is very well organized. The locals are a bit posh but the foreigners are party animals. Soooooo many belgians as the lineup is very similar to tomorrowland but it's so much cheaper and the place is definitely more beautiful

Life inside is very cheap compared to western Europe festivals: 2€ for a pint of beer, 2€ for a slice of pizza, 3/3,5€ for a shot, 5/6€ for a plate of pasta, 4€ for a gyros, 2-3€ for french fries. You can't bring alcohol, inside the festival area and the campsites. They check this very well, especially when you enter the festival area. Right outside the main entrance of the festival there are plenty of places selling even cheaper alcohol on the road. 

Campsites are pretty close. Beach Camping and Caravan Camping are just outside the festival area, Basic Camping is 5-10 mins walking away. I recommend Basic Camping as it's full of shady spots while in Beach Camping there's no shade at all. It basically depend on if you prefer a closer spot or a shady one.

We booked our festival tickets yesterday so will definitely be there :-)

We are favouring the caravans on the beach as our accommodation but haven't booked yet.
