New to Reading- day tickets only

So, this is the first ever festival I have been to. Me and my mate are going. We have booked a hotel nearby and have bought day tickets to Saturday and Sunday. In regards to alcohol, anyway to get alcohol in on just day tickets, where can we get alcohol inside etc. Sorry new to this, but alcohol is a big deal let's not sugar coat it haha! Any help would be great, thanks!!

On a day ticket it's only going to be at the bars, so if you want to get drunk you better start planning a bank heist. You can try smuggling some in, best bet is to go for spirits and buy mixers at an ice cream van or something but be prepared for them to find it so you're not too disappointed

Day ticket entry is via Green Gate, Security is pretty hot on searching there - if you've got a bag, it's gonna get checked.

So the answer lies in secreting it about your person, but you are more than likely still going to get searched and have to give it up. The main problem you have is that the flow of day ticket entry people is a lot more staggered throughout the day, rather than the rush of weekenders all trying to get into the arena early on, so they do have the time and resource to search everyone.

Sorry, probably not what you want to hear, but rather go prepared than lose your booze, then have to pay in-arena prices.
