Hey, My family have tickets to the festival. They desperately want a Tipi and were unable to get through when they became available. They will not be able to attend the festival without staying in a tipi due to mobility issues, which sucks!!! any body know any way of getting a tipi or anyone selling these as there unable to not go them selfs?? Please let me know :) XXX

There must be other alternatives to a tipi if mobility issues are the reason for wanting one? Other pre-booked camping (Worthy View is up a hill just offsite, but Camplight is at the bottom of Pennard Hill - closer to 'the action' than the tipi field)? Offsite 'glamping' - costly, but not much more than a tipi?

Onsite disabled camping in Spring Ground - if registered disabled contact GFL for assistance.

Great thanks for both responses,,,,  Pie and Pint,,,, i see you mentioned camp light? i have just attempted to view this and there getting the website ready, is this a new thing??

Basically, they have a tent booked in worthy view but there is a very steep hill which will make it impossible to leave the tent, the mobility issue isn't a registered disability and so we aren't able to access the disabled camp site. My auntie is unable to walk and need an operation on her knees, But because she is a Glastonbury fanatic she wants to try and go to the festival

So being in a tipi isn't going to help - it's not flat access there either, and it's a long way from any of the main stages apart from the Park, and a long-ish way from the Pedestrian gate, which she'll still have to queue at and walk in through.

If your auntie is unable to walk (at all?) how is she going to get on site? Get to the loo? Lots of the loos are up steps now and if she's not got a disabled wristband she won't be able to use the disabled loos. Get around? Or do you mean she can walk but not far and not on hills? In which case could she get on site and camp somewhere very central (say, Big Ground / Row Mead) and at least sit in a chair and watch the Pyramid bands? Or camp centrally with a pre-pitched tent like Camplight*?

I'm absolutely not trying to put you off, but Glastonbury will be very, very hard work for her. Without a registered disability and access to the disabled facilities, she'll need to be able to walk some distance. If she's up for that, great, but if not, she could end up sitting at the tent all weekend, which could be miserable, more so if there is rain or mud. :(

*Camplight don't seem to have released their tents for this year yet, but they're basically pre-pitched recycled tents located at the bottom of Pennard Hill (close to The Other Stage and not far from The Park, along the railway track to Avalon etc.) Maybe you could contact them and see what they're planning to do? I think they've got a Facebook.

Otherwise offsite 'glamping' is an option - they often have shuttle buses / buggies to and from the pedestrian gate.
