Hitchin hill

Hi all,

Are there any trees in Hitchin hill?

If so, would it be advisable to camp away from it?

I wondered if it could provide some shelter and somewhere to hang a portable shower and dry clothes.

+1 on the map. Really gives first timers an idea of the granditure of the festival

No trees in the middle of Hitchin Hill, but there are hedges all around the camping area's western and northern edges

When we've camped in Hitchin, every year before taking the van, we have been luck enough to get in relatively quick and camp right up the top of the hill next to the fence - which is great for hanging the solar shower from

Stay away from hitchin hill especially along the top near the fence! It's rubbish and you'll have a rubbish time it will ruin your whole festival.

Try Pennards or somewhere like that..

I suspect they are kidding? We have always camped there, although now take a van due to having a toddler, and have always had a great spot at the top of the hill - which is great in the rain! It may not have the all night party vibe of somewhere like Pennards, but we've always had great neighbours and the less party vibe has suited us as we both like to get some sort of sleep during the festival - must be getting old!!
