Not to put a damper on anyones plans but in 2011, we got the 5:00am coach from London but didn't arrive at the Festival Coach stop until 11:00am. We hit Shepton Mallet by 8:00am but then found ourselves in the longest traffic queue in history. So the trip down was about 3 hours but we then queued outside the three hours, staring longingly at the (just visible) Pyramid stage....

I think it is just the luck of the draw though as the lady camped next to us said she also got a 5:00am coach from London and she was through the gates 3 hours later and all set up in the Dairy Field by 9:00am.

We also didn't stop on the way down. The driver said since it was only going to be a three hour journey ( ) and there was a toilet on board, he intended just to head straight down there. However, he also handed out tickets at the beginning the the journey and let people just take their tickets and not board the coach if they wanted.

Again, luck of the draw.

It's taken anywhere from 3/4 hours to nearly 7 one year. Last time went really smoothly then we had to queue up for over 2 hours in the rain to get into the festival.
