Twitter at Glasto

Can anyone help with what would be the best way to effectively ignore all my current twitter feed whilst at Glasto and follow a much smaller, Glasto related feed. I did go and create a new account and then spotted Lists, but unsure if they'd work out practically.

Also, if anyone has already created a followable List of artists separate to Glasto areas that'd be wonderful!

I have made a list for myself of the Glastonbury areas (Silver Hayes etc), Glastonbury-related accounts, efestivals/GW people, and friends that I know are going this year.

I didn't take that long, I basically just searched for Glastonbury and related keywords, then found the right people, clicked the menu next to follow, and added them to my Glastonury 2013 list.

You can access your list from going on Me then Lists, then just add it as a bookmark/favourite.

If, like me, you follow too many people, it comes in handy to filter and sort them.

I was the OP and no where have i mentioned that i wanted to configure twitter to tell me what to do. So maybe don't jump to being judge and jury.

I was being somewhat flippant.

My point really was: why do you need twitter at Glastonbury?

Are there really better things going on on twitter than there are at the festival, so that you ignore the festival and instead give your attention to twitter?

Twitter might of course let you know about something that's going on at Glastonbury that you otherwise wouldn't know about - but only 'might' - but surely you'd already be doing something highly enjoyable anyway ... so why the need to be told of something else?

You don't need twitter to do what you want to do when you're already in the world's best playground.

Personally, tho' I'm going to be twittering for Info I won't have a smartphone myself and truely can't understand anyone wanting to take an expensive piece of kit that is so easily loosable (seen many handed in or desperately sought) to spend time on when you could be wandering and discovering the best festival that is so rich in experiences in the short, short time we have there. (In fact I think 'EE' (stupid name) have rolled GFL into a major marketing exercise for 4G . . but that's probably another topic!)

But hey, each to their own and I can see that the festival had to address the issue of twitter, fb etc and put out real info rather than a bunch of unofficial sites spreading rumours.

Don't forget, some people will be working while there (local, regional, national and international media), and twitter will be an invaluable tool to see who is saying, doing, seeing what goes on all over the site. Unfortunately not everyone who goes, does so purely for fun.

I'm checking in with work, friends at the festival and other stuff of interest.

It's not a replacement of interesting things to do, just an enhancement!

Hear that whooshing noise? You're missing the point entirely.

There is a massive difference between perhaps sending a tweet if a variety of circumstances all align themselves, and making a plans in advance for spending your time at the festival using twitter.

Twitter is not the festival and it's not life (tho it does sound like it's some people's lives, sad fuckers).

Enjoy the festival and your life.
