Coach from London or Heathrow?

Hi fellows!

So excited about my first Glasto from south Korea.

I've done with my balance payment and flight ticket, and I'm about to book a coach ticket.

I'll arrive at Heathrow 18:25 on tuesday, stay one night at the guest house in London, and head for Glasto early in the wednesday morning.

Which will be better?

1. Go back to Heathrow by express and take the 08:00 coach.

2. Wake up earlier and take 07:00 or earlier coach at Victoria.

I am worry about the traffic jam in London.

And 1 more question.

When is the best time option to come back to London in Monday morning?

Easy or silly question?

Unless you're staying near Paddington and are willing to pay the outrageous price of the Express, you'd probably end up having to wake up at a similar time for both options, as Heathrow is usually a good hour's journey from most central London locations.

Victoria is close to the A4, so traffic out shouldn't be terrible, as you're going against peak flow. I'd be willing to bet that it arrives at the festival a little before the Heathrow bus, so that'd be the one I'd recommend.

As for the way back, if you have accommodation in London for Monday night you want to get a bus that leaves as late in the morning as possible, so that you can party on Sunday without worrying about getting up early on Monday. This advice flips if you have a flight on Monday - in which case I'd recommend an early bus with LOTS of buffer time in case of traffic.

We're coming over from Sweden on the tuesday, arriving at Gatwick Airport at 22.30. We first thought of booking a B&B over the night but then decided to take the first bus at 04.30 and just wait at the victoria coach station 3 hours or so. I guess there probably will be some more people going to glasto there too, and to other destinations as well so shouldn't be a problem http://www.sleepinginairports.net/list.asp?thef=list&s=&act=1&did=512#.UV1H4JMqybQ

So that might be an option for you. Another would just to sleep at the airport and take the first bus from heathrow to glasto, instead of sleeping in london and then go back to heathrow.

On the monday we're going back to London with the 04.30 coach as we have an early flight back home, arrinving in London around 08.30.
