Thursday arrival.

Right everyone, for the first time since 2002 we can't come down early Wednesday morning, looks like we're gonna land about 10am on Thursday. Now this is the rub, does anyone have any idea where we are likely to find clumps of ground to fit on five tents, I know it's one of those how long's a piece of string type thing! Seem to remember 2011 we came back into camp after going to our car on Saturday dinner time, think it was near the drop off point, it appeared that there was bags of room left on the Saturday so wonder if anyone could point us in the right direction regarding fields/entrance gates to give us a fair start without having to Yomp too far?

I've stayed in Pylon Ground before and it literally had space all weekend.

According to this page: http://www.glastoearth.com/the-faq/faq-part-3 Pylon Ground, Rivermead and Bushy Ground are your best bets! They are all along the West fence between gates A and D...

I shared a tent with a girl in that area which we only put upon the Saturday. There was plenty of room around - but maybe not right next to each other for five tents.

We favour Rivermead, although by Thursday morning it gets busy-ish it gets nowhere near as packed as other areas of the site. Pylon ground which is the next field along was quieter so sure you old be fine there.

For those that have camped in Pylon and Rivermead, did you feel part of the action or did you feel it was a bit of an effort to get to the action other than John Peel/Dance Village/Other? Also what was the general atmosphere like?

Didn't feel away from the action at all in Rivermead. Even with the mud slowing us down in 2011 it was still probably only 15 minutes to the other stage, maybe 20minutes to pyramid (guessing as wasnt terribly sober most of the times that i made those teips!). Atmosphere was ok, neighbours seemed pretty friendly although didn't spend much time at the tent to get to know folk. We are planning on returning to Rivermead, it suits us to not be packed in like sardines!
