Hi ladies & gents ;)

Right, ill get right to the point. Me & my friend have booked our tickets (General camping the whole weekend) but we have'nt the faintest idea on a few things so i was wondering if you guys could help us out!!! You may laugh lol, we have absoloutely NO IDEA what to expect so;

1) Does anyone know how long its going to take to get to Daresbury from South london by car ROUGHLY? Not that its going to bother us ;)

2) There's two of us, best way to carry our stuff around?

I know we have to travel light, what should we bring apart from the obvious tent & Sleeping bag...

3) Someone said that there are showers?

Erm...massive que's considering theres a dirty massive field right? Or does everyone just absoloutley stink and "use babywipes" :S (hahaha)

4) Are we allowed to bring alcohol and how much of it?

Any tips on sneaking it in is welcomed ;)

5) Any way we can boil some water like any stools or something?

We plan on having lots of supernoodles or soup haha.

6) What time do need to arrive and what time do we have to leave by or will we be told more info closer to the date?

I think thats it really, but if you have any more tips for us we would greatly apprieicate it!

Emma x

Hi Emma, for starters i need to congratulate the pair of you on purchasing tickets. I'm struggling to find anyone who's up for CF this yr & really want to go (need a new CF crew buddy, ha!).

Right then, your journey time all depends on what time you plan to travel. Late night/early morning always recommended, we do Yorkshire to Glasto in 5 hrs due to empty roads at this time. Compared to sitting in queues for hours on end, the early get up really is worth it. As for ya camping gear, you really don't need much for CF but depends on the size of your tent to if a sack barrow is required for car to campsite journey - as once you're in, there's no going back! Choice of booze, good stash of nosh, few items of various clothing - you don't need to take too much.

It you're thinking about showers already, festivals aren't for you, haha! From personal experience it's not worth finding out where they are, you'll waste too much time rather than chillin' at the tent with beers or when open > been in the arena & raving. Pack of baby wipes is more than sufficient. Cooking, the general one gas ring stoves are awesome - if you plan to eat hot food at ya tent, these are well worth putting on the trolley.

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
