Speakers

Hey guys

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for portable speakers for the campsite? I've got a small logitech dock that has a rechargable battery, but it's not gonna be very loud unless it was inside a tent. Looking for something that could be used for when everyone is sitting outside and still be loud. People right beside us last year had speakers that used a boat battery, was so loud, proper vibrated our blow up beds haha. Looking to spend under £100, any suggestions?

Alright! Slightly over your budget but we have used these for holidays/festivals/camping and the sound quality is superb! Packs some serious punch. We did have an older model of it so you might pick one up cheaper if you look for that one instead

It takes quite a few D size batteries but they do last a good while. Not sure if it's a bit 'hefty' however it's maybe worth a look

That JVC boombox looks amazing, but it's out my price range, would be too worried about somebody stealing it (unlikely at Rockness I know). The Wowee speaker looks pretty good, didn't know they were that cheap. I had an X-Mini speaker last year, great wee thing for about £12, but not very loud. Thinking about getting the Wowee or getting like 3-4 X-Mini's and daisy chaining them. Only thing with the Wowee, doesn't it have to be again a solid surface to work properely?

lol @ that video!! wouldnt risk taking that thing to a festivial :lol

emm i used a "Gear4 Street Party III iPod Dock Stereo Speaker System" last year

takes 4 No double A batteries, that was enough for me and my mates.

at the time was only around £30, looks pretty crap so it didnt get stolen

edit : says on Play.com that its "16W total speaker output" and its £37

i seen it in Tescos for £15 the other day

pretty handy when a heap of ppl have different ipods, that way they dont have to listen to my horrid taste in music

and having a few ipods is handy incase battery life isnt the greatest, that Gear4 Street Party III doesnt charge ipod/iphone.

edit : ahhh yeh it has an AUX port too!!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
