Stewarding Rotas

Does anyone know when the stewarding rotas are going to be sent out? Seeing the times announced has got me very excited for the festival, but also made me wonder what i'll be missing whilst working. So does anyone who's done it before remember what sort of time we get told what the rota is? It'd be nice to know!

Shugie - no, ain't heard anything about the 'training' times. There's usually 3 or 4 meets - haphazard affairs where they show you the basics about radios, lost children etc.etc.

Where you working - I'm in 'the village' - so, any one of 50 possibilities, first shift ends 3 in morning, which is going to be a challenge!! Ain't stayed up beyond 10.14pm for 25 years???

Bit surprised at the Stewards Camping Zone idea, that's going to upset a few folks who work the festival, but like to camp with their 'punter' buddies.

Don't know your surname - otherwise I could check out your shifts on my e-mail - assuming yours ain't arrived since........

I had a vision then of some big 'army type' barrack tent, where as soon as one steward gets up from his bunk another one takes his place....and them being brought in in buses just to do their shifts...is there a big fence too?

Oh dear, the thought of me stumblin' back from the 'village' at 03.05 to replace some unfortunate soul in the 'complex' is not a good one.

Please tell me it'll be OK - AND I'm in a live-in vehicle, so, by your theory, I'll be chuckin' nine or ten out of my van and awning. Yes, already heard from Nick that Campervans etc are in same 'complex'......

It'll all be fine................won't it ????

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
