Hi, as you can see i am a regular poster, and this is not spam. For my A2 media coursework, i am writing a piece with the question "How far can it be said that rock music is a dying genre" looking specifically at music festivals. So i am adding poll results in and would really appreciate if you could answer the question to help with my coursework. Cheers.

Just to clarify what i mean in the last question, recently music festivals are losing the rock feel to them, with there not been enough rock acts playing, prime example V Fest this year.

I personally think it's down to personal taste.

Yes rock is not as commercially successful as some of the acts at V, but that's only because the people that go there do not like that music. Plus there's loads of other festivals that have rock music- Reading/Leeds, Download, Sonisphere, plus Glasto and T probably have some

Could talk about the rise of more focused genre festivals like Sonisphere, Download and V. Also about how Glastonbury has diversified itself, Jay Z and Beyonce as headliners. Also maybe like Reading having it's own dance stage emerging even though its a traditional rock festival, not sure how long that's been there.

    • Yet again we’re missing the WH Sunday reggae slot
    • Occident has got larger over the years and there's relatively little overlap with mbv and OR fans that I think it would work fine as it would divide the crowd so effectively.   They don't even need to give the biggest stage from an optics perspective either, this would be billed as a secret short set and used to promote her new album.
    • Really like this! Few artists a bit low I reckon like the Reytons, Yard Act, the Royston Club and Florence Road but I’d absolutely take this!
    • Yeah Olivia Rodrigo walked right past me when leaving the crowd during The Cure set.   I had to escape where I was in the crowd so was just chilling in the bottom left corner when she walked through with a couple of others.    Thought it was her or someone who looked incredibly like her but no-one else seemed to pick up on it, either not bothered or just too engrossed in their own conversations to not notice..
    • Why?   It’s all made up nonsense, an illusion for the masses.   Who do we owe these numbers on a server to, and how will they collect them?
