Tuesday night in the carpark

We were due to stay in a hotel in Street on the tuesday evening but due to finances our group of eight have had to cancel (there are four rooms available at the Bear Inn now!). Just wondering if you were allowed to use one of the disposable bbq's last year, I know they say no tents or camping but does that extend to bbq's? One of us is travelling in a transit van so we were thinking if they are that strict on the cooking front we could cook it all up in the back of the van maybe.

You're not allowed to, I wouldn't advise it, but having said that there were way more than a few people with stoves and BBQs out on the Tuesday night around where we were parked and the stewards/security didnt stop them.

I'd recommend doing it in the back of the transit van, there is no risk from carbon monoxide in an enclosed space. Go for it.

Interestingly I've read that one of the most pleasant suicide methods involves a bottle of vodka, a 2 man tent and 2 disposable bbq's. Should you fancy a bit of alt.suicide.holiday

Some people managed to set fire to a load of cars at Reading festival having a bbq by a car park (just the other side of a fence as it happens, so they couldn't put it out themselves.)

I was in the guest area at Sonisphere, so van was parked up just outside the camping area. It said no gas canisters on site, so just did my cooking inside the van to start with and no one noticed.
