Compact Trolley Question - Coming From U.S.

I realize that trolleys are a big subject, and I'm definitely going to re-read some of the prior threads, but I was hoping to get some suggestions which I might be able to find here in the states, and can be easier to travel with by plane & train.

We will be packing either a large backpack or suitcase with all of our camping stuff. We are going to be much more organized for our 2nd Glastonbury trip, and I want to get a travel sized trolley with which we can carry our things into/out of the festival. Something that can hold at least a couple of suitcases, some beer, and perhaps a small backpack or two. 2009 was complete Disorganized Chaos for us, right up until we left in the rain at 6 AM Monday morning.

But I feel like it needs to be collapsible, and the more compact the better, so it can fit in either the oversized backpack or suitcase. I'm not sure if weight is an issue. It probably needs to be less than 4-5 kilograms. Something I could find over here in the U.S. would be preferable, but we might have some time to stop in London if necessary once we get to England.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Rule 1 with trolleys and Glasto - pneumatic tyres and strong axles. Anything other than that and you may as well just throw your money in a bin because the rocky hard ground which you encounter as soon as you arrive from the car parks is trolley killing. Little granny shopping trolleys with tiny plastic wheels are usually the first to die horribly.

There are 2 of you in your party? Consider big rucksacks as again you will be wasting valuable trolley space if loading it up with up to 2 suitcases (which wont fit anyway if you want to add more on too). Big priority is good bungees (elastic luggage cords) too and more than 3 for starters.

A suitcase loaded with the camping gear isnt a bad idea though, dont use your most expensive or best though. I have done this in the past myself using a large wheely canvas holdall with reinforced plastic base which stood up to Download Festival and was ok as a solo traveller with a large rucksack on my back. One person with rucksack for the sack trolley and the beers and sundries, other person with their own rucksack and in charge of the suitcase/holdall of camping gear. Any town or city in the UK has cheapo suitcase/bag shops and you can pick up those large holdalls for as little as £20. There is a big shop at the Marble Arch end of Oxford Street next to Primark.

Use the trolley for the camping gear and the beer and practise loading it up before getting to the site. How are you getting to site? Car or coach? Coaches can be sniffy with sack trolleys.

Good luck planning it. It doesnt sound like you are particularly laden to be honest.
