ZUTEKH PRESENTS... ONE RECORDS SHOWCASE

From its inception in November 2009, One Records has become a melting pot for some of the best emerging talent in the UK underground house music scene. Originators Adam Shelton and Subb-an have created a label true to itself and its house music roots. We have selected 3 of the finest on their books to show you exactly what One Records is made of..!

HECTOR (One Records / 8bit / Crosstown Rebels)

When it comes to solid underground house music Hector has been mixing up styles and moods with a firm focus on the dance-floor for a number of years. His unique selection nods to house music’s past but engages fully with its future. His sets have energy, precision and the soul of the summer. With regular sets at Fabric, Watergate in Berlin and The Zoo Project in Ibiza, he is rapidly becoming one of the most exciting young producers on the planet.

Originally hailing from Mexico via working for Phonica Records in London, Hector has earned his place in the record boxes of DJs such as Loco Dice, Dyed Soundorom, Nick Curly, Ricardo Villalobos, Heidi and Dinky. As well as on One Records, he has released tracks on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Mobilee, 20:20 Vision, Phonica, and 8bit.

ADAM SHELTON (One records / Below / Zutekh)

As soon as Adam played for us alongside Lee Foss back in November, we asked him to join Zutekh as a resident - thankfully for us he accepted! His constant focus on quality underground house music and impeccable skills behind the decks have earned him sets at some of the best clubs and parties in the world, including Panorama Bar (Berlin), Harry Klein (Munich), Garden Festival (Croatia), fabric (London), The Rex Club (Paris), Cocoon in the Park (Leeds) and most recently Electric Pickle (Miami Winter Music Conference). As well as for us at Zutekh Adam also holds down a residency at the now legendary Below in Birmingham and is known to many as one of the best resident DJs in the country.

An avid vinyl collector himself, Adam launched One Records alongside Subb-an, friend and also Below resident. Their aim with the label was to encapsulate the energy and dexterity of artists and crowds that the party has connected with most. They did exactly that with their first release ‘The Musik EP’ - Two deep and off-kilter acid house tracks, earning themselves praise from DJ Mag, Radio 1 and Germany’s De:Bug magazine, amongst others. Since then Adam has gone on to release several more on One, including the amazing 'I'm Dancing,' plus tracks for Air London and the forthcoming 'Feels So Real' again with Subb-an on 20:20 Vision.

SEELIE (One Records / For No Reason)

Brought up surrounded by his Dad’s Motown, Funk and Northern Soul collection and a shed load of early House records from his Uncle, Seelie was endowed with a richly soulful grounding which transpires through his DJ sets and productions alike. An avid record collector and long-time resident for the infamous For No Reason, he has honed his craft playing alongside House music's finest, including the likes of Chez Damier, Jamie Jones and Peace Division's Clive Henry. Delving deep into his box reveals current killers, to hidden gems from the history of house. Wax with feeling, whether it be the bumpin' sound of Chicago or the refined beauty of Detroit, Seelie's sound captivates anyone with a feel for the groove, as well as tickling the taste buds of the more discerning house head.

With his Soulocation track released earlier this year on One Records with heavy support from the likes of Sasse, Anthony Collins and Mark Henning we have high hopes for the future of Seelie.

We also wanted to say a massive THANKYOU goes out to everyone involved in the last party with M.A.N.D.Y. & Richie Ahmed. There have been some pretty special Zutekh's in the past, but we are sure you ll all agree, this was the best yet !
